Poem thread

Blue,
Pale aqua,
Seashells, sand,
Apple of her eye,
One of the best,
Most beautiful,
He was proud,
Privileged.

The sun blazed down,
We set off,
I whispered,
I noticed,
The heart gleaming,
About which I knew nothing,
We were shown all around,
His and hers,
I noticed,
I thought,
I was given,
Lovely,
Perfect,
Everything.....

Yeah those first couple lines just bring me to the beach.

To come up with that I actually took page 337 out of some novel and worked my way down the page crossing out words I didn't want while highlighting the ones I liked. So it kind of just unfolded and fell into place on its own....

I wrote this one for my wife the other night. I came up with it off the top of my head in about an hour.

It all has meaning though, its sort of our relationship in a nutshell.........its called,

Baby Girl.

I'll dive into hell,
I'llll stop at nothing,
I've broken outta my shell,
You'll see I'm not bluffing,

You'll see how it's true,
How you don't have to be strong,
Your broken peices well glue,
I'll right every wrong.

I won't stop till it's done,
Still won't stop after that,
Rise up with the new sun,
Set fire to the past,

Together we'll strive,
Together we'll soar,
We're finally alive,
We've reached a new shore.

How has your heart come this far?
Somehow an angel still,
How well you hide the scars,
You ought to be bitter, bitter until,

Until you have felt your rock at least,
Should be upset at promises not kept,
While waiting in vain for boy to become beast,
Darling I'm amazed at the days you haven't wept.

I find myself wondering more often than not,
In moments your beauty shimmers like stars,
Who on Earth could have ever thought,
This love against all odds would get this far?

Oh but it has and it will, it cannot be stopped,
The bads, the goods, been better been worse,
So many opinions wrong, dead, trampled, chopped,
This love of ours endures every curse.

So keep your head up baby girl, just getting started,
Remember where you came from, don't forget dear,
Know my ghost will love you after I've departed,
Long after those dreams became real and clear.

I know how long you've held on by a strand,
As I stumbled over your peices, clumsy, unaware,
I once heard you say you don't deserve God's plan,
Thats not true baby girl! Lil sparkly stare.

So I guess all I'm trying to say,
Is that I'm here sweet love, no actually here,
I've learned from the journey, were well on our way,
So I promise you a gift for each and every tear....

I know it's a little choppy at points :/ I'm open to constructive criticism....

Poem was fine mate. The 'Baby Girl' poem opened up (1st four paragraphs) like I was talking rap but then became finer.

Keep up the writing. I reckon your wife was happy with your words.

So Raise a glass
in case we cant
Replace the days we threw away
And never ask the question
Where is that place I've always chased
But never seen it mentioned
Second guess till nothing's left
