I don't know his military career, though- not sure I can agree with great warrior. Didn't I read he traded military intelligence while in a camp in exchange for his life? Can't say I wouldn't, but I once had a friend who could... If he hadn't been killed for not doing just that. He died with the knowledge of the location of just three of his nearby wartime brothers, who are all home safely, now.

Half of this information conflicted with what John himself said in his book. His book talked about spending a large portion of his capture in a hospital bed. So which was it?
