The thing I do respect is that McCain would not accept being freed from his captors (arranged specially because daddy was a General) until they had first freed other POW's. That is heroic.

If you wish to blame anyone for the napalmed villages and victims through, blame the politicians that sent them there in the first place.

What about the B-17 pilots, crews, and other allied bombers that dropped incendiaries on to the likes of Hamburg during WW2, how do you feel about those heroes?

Do you imagine they are seen as such by anyone that managed to escape the firestorms they helped create?

The act of aggression against the unarmed or the barely armed, is just not heroic.

The fact that there is a war and there is risk does not automatically mean that those who take those risks are heroes.

Otto Schindler was a hero who saved lives at great personal risk. Someone who takes lives at great personal risk is just a combatant, not a hero IMHO.

Agreed. Unless it’s a truly just war most of these guys aren’t heros.

A little more research has me believing he committed suicide. Lotsa reasons why he did. It will all come to light one day sooner....or later.

Well Arizona isn't a "Right to Die" state. so if he chose to end his life after ending treatment, then he did so in violation of the law. If this is the case then "suicide" would be the correct term.

Even without being in a right to die place, some doctors will increase opioid levels in order to "relieve suffering". At least, so I have read in the UK where euthanasia is illegal. It spares families the hurt of seeing their loved-one suffer unnecessarily. The increased dosage can be explained away easily as the pain level increases. Just the 2 cents I heard.

we can ask that quetion for every person that died because we dont know what future technologies can do.

Paradoxically, McCain really is a world hero ! He's actually proven that the USA cannot anymore go to war for the sake of a special bond with the UK-EU, even if its own depraved oligarchy and media would love to.
