"Weeds" that detect landmines

Hey there,
Just got the new National Geographic that arrived today. There's a small article explaining how scientists in Denmark have produced a variety of "Thale Cress" that turn from green to red in color when they encounter nitrogen dioxide! Nitrogen Dioxide, the article notes, is a byproduct of land mines that evaporates from buried explosives. Anyone read this? Sound promising... It reminds me of the bees that US border patrol have experimented with that detect certain explosives (and are supposedly housed in gov't made "nests" along the Mexican border.) Sounds pretty good if the seeds for such a plant can be dispersed by a c-130 or other large cargo jet a'la that old hippy idea to spread marijuana seeds in such a manner. (Not that I support such an effort) Comments? Anyone familiar with "Thale Cress"?
