I first found this story on a foreign language website, it's strange that I haven't seen it in the regular media. The Senate is defending the media, and declared that “the press is not the enemy of the people.” Maybe the President should listen to them, even George W Bush has come out saying the press is an important part of society. Not only is he right, but the free press is in the first ammedment.

Too bad its the Multi-National Corporate Press, which to see "liberals" grandstand and go out of their minds in support of such a machination is truly mind-boggling.

This is completely toothless. It doesn't condemn Trump for the stuff he said ....

So they can't do their job and pass any actual legislation but they can pass meaningless resolutions

The Senate is defending the media.

Okay.

Senate approval rating is just below getting stung by a jelly fish.

Media approval rating is tied with "sucking chest wound" and "pooping blood".

The OP is in part, part of a growing population of people who think the government is awesome except for Trump, because this is what the media says.

And the media says it never lies, so whatever they say HAS to be the truth!

It was in the American MSM news this past week, but wasn't important enough to warrant an ATS thread.

Trump owes his success to the ''cover'' he has provided to the Republican agenda. That agenda has been moving forward with all his attention grabbing shenanigans and the medias slopping it all up rather than focusing on the legislative moves being made. The Senate coming out against his latest statements may signal that his use to them is almost over.

Trump is a lesson as to what happens when we allow government and the media to get as horrendously out of hand as it has. It is clear that we still haven't yet learnt that lesson. Maybe 4 more years will hammer it home. Or perhaps president Kayne West will help make it click...

but they can pass meaningless resolutions

Actually this is somewhat important, since Trump is trying to brainwash his mindless minions to hate and attack the media, which is terrible and unconstitutional for our country. He wants to be a dictator with no dissent, which is unAmerican.

These "resolutions" are a way for Congress to look busy and feel important...that's all they are.

One was passed two weeks ago declaring that Rod Rosenstein is eligible for impeachment. Whoop-de-doo!

Unethical Dim Senator Mark Warner is submitting a resolution this week, to prevent Presidents from "arbitrarily" revoking security clearances. Whoop-de-doo!

In the mean-time nothing gets done on important issues like Immigration, Border Security, Infrastructure, on and on...

But Congress is BUSY during the 146 days a year that they're actually in Washington working!

It is our right to attack the media.

It is actually CONSTITUTIONAL.

How is it unconstitutional for me to distrust the media? Trump is not causing that the media is, people throw words around anymore and don't even know what they are talking about, like you with the word unconstitutional. It lessens your argument.

And Trump has declared he likes freedom of the press after the MSM attacks !!

The "Press" digs its own grave without help.

"They built it, they own it"
