"video" games...

Tis a sub forum on the board, but what if said game isn't a "video" game?

perhaps the video should be removed?

Just because there are other games... board games?

Card games?

Twister?

I play twister in single player mode.

couldnt those other topics just be in board business?

Don't care much for video games but board games are all day, every day in my house...

Just last night I played pictonairy with the kids. Settlers of Catan is by far my favorite with Risk and Stratego taking up second place..

Card games are also much fun and I discovered Skipbo last year...perfect for long summer nights.

Chess is also a big thing here but we lost some pieces so I'm going to have to buy a new set for that.

Just last week my girlfriend and I talked about trying to get our hands on that MAD games from the 80's..

Board games are way more fun than video games

I like this idea...board games are cool again. Though some have to be tweaked. Hubby and I had to create our own cards and rules for the new LIFE game. Their version was too pc, unrealistic, and everyone was a winner. Bleh.

Though some of those other games out there are fun too; Munchkin, Catan, Pandemic...etc.
It would be fun to have a place here to discover what others play and their thoughts on those games.

Never realised board games were uncool but I guess they kind went to the background with all the videogames.

We've got 6 kids age 7 to 15 and online activities have always been regulated in my house. They get online more than enough but if you don't use the off button they will permanently be behind a screen.

So boardgames and other activities that do not need a powercord are plenty in our family.

I recently bought a sort of game which is basically a box full of cards that have questions on them and you use it to start table conversations. I got the kids edition but with questions like "does everything have a top and a bottom" you would not believe the amount of fun it brings...

We should get together. Nothing like single player twister with two mats. We can make curious yet scary eye contact, and then giggle, while prostrate or with a leg over yonder.

The giggling makes it really fun !!!

Ahha I kid I kid... We'd need a wall, some grass and 2 windows. That's how I play it as the neighbour stares at me, with that look.

But no one ever respawns. And the blood doesn't disappear.

My fiance keeps yelling at me because I keep backing board games on Kickstarter. We now pretty much have a closet full of them.

Well so far nobody has drawn blood but Monopoly will get you there....lol

As for the respawning....it depends wether or not people are paying attention:

"hey!! I already beat that pawn", "no you didn't".
