I had supper already, but you can certainly have a donut or two, or three.

Glad to hear that some family members are feeling better. At least if you catch it you know it will pass quickly.

Go to your man cave! That was gross. Glad I already ate my dinner or I would have barfed. Care for a donut?

Speaking of 'eh', where's Jacy? Should I bake fresh donuts to lure her in?

Yes...yes you should.

Hi Night and Everybody!

I'm just going to get caught up now. Wow...almost 4 pages. Wonderful to see a crowded house (or Shed).
Be back shortly.

Leaves donuts on a pretty china dish for Jacy.

Have fun catching up. Got your running shoes on?

I just did some jewelry repairs for my Sister. Glued a couple of stones in earrings, put new ear wires on a pair of earrings, but waiting to fix a bracelet for her. Another day I want to fix some of my own jewelry. I have a couple necklaces that need a link and clasp and other pieces that need one thing or another.

I got woken up early again today, so rather sleepy. I have to get up early tomorrow too as I will be going out with my Sister. I hope we have time to go to a dollar store. There are a few items I could use.

I am just exhausted and sore too. I feel bad leaving when you just arrived Jacy.
I have to lay down for a while. I'll be back later tonight though. HUGS!

Geez, looks like I missed out on a party here earlier. I've actually been busier than normal the last couple of days but I'm sorry I didn't get to chat with everyone.

No problem hun, go relax. Talk to you later.

I'm listening to Machio Kaku on Coast2Coast and I swear he's indulging in MM, lol

I just realized there's 38 days left until the hubs and I start arguing over how early is too early to put up the Christmas tree
Day after Halloween, I start nagging. Not necessarily because I want stuff up ASAP, but because his reactions are always funny XD "Are you kidding me?? Can you wait until we eat a ham first?" "So we're buying one tomorrow?" "NO!" lmao

LOL, he's a bit out there sometimes. Giorgio takes the cake, but Kaku gets...goofy sometimes. He's still a pleasure to listen to, though.

I watched some t.v. then fell asleep. I woke with burning pain in my leg. I hate that, but I did catch up on some sleep.
How are you and your friends doing Hun?

The theoretical physicist. What was he talking about on the show? I love coast to coast, but haven't heard the show in some time.

Mostly talked about future tech. He's more open minded to paranormal stuff than most physicists and actually a pleasure to listen to. He's done shows on the science of sci-fi stuff and was on this last season of ancient aliens. Seems like a chill guy

Hahaha! Christmas tree for me usually goes up after our Thanksgiving meal or within a few days after. I just have a small fake tree and some floral arrangements and little decorations here and there with tiny lights strung on silk green plants. I have two gorgeous Angels that I bring out. One reminds me of a woodland faery.

I have handmade ornaments as well as store bought ones and those I received as gifts. Last year I made seashell angels with real white feathers for wings. I also have apples that I stuck with whole cloves, let it dry out and shrink, or you can use a styrofoam ball glued then I used broken pieces of cinnamon to glue around it as well as moss. On top I add a tiny red cardinal and maybe a tiny red flower with a pretty bow and ribbon to hang it. I also made little cinnamon bundles wrapped in ribbon.

Yes, he's cool. We should invite him to dinner at the Shed some night. Wonder if he likes donuts, not for dinner though. LOL

I see a Night Star's Holiday Crafts thread in your near-future! You're much more creative than I am, and I probably am not just speaking for myself when I say if you did that kind of thread for the upcoming holidays to share ideas, it would be a big hit

It would be fun and a good idea. Hope I feel up to making the darned thing. I get lost on youtube with ideas and tutorials or just come up with stuff in my head. I love making up various gift baskets for occasions too.

One very cheap and lovely idea was one year when I got glass wine goblets from the dollar store, bought a silk poinsettia, one red and one white with just a hint of gold glitter around the flower. I wrapped the stem around the glasses and added a bow. They looked beautiful boxed up as a pair with tissue paper. Then I bought a bottle of wine to go with the goblets.

Last year I got a picture frame from the dollar store and glued seashells around the frame. Such simple and easy yet beautiful gift ideas.

I think all the ladies on my list got jewelry at one time or another that I made. I have so many supplies from getting things on sale through the years. I didn't think I would ever run of little crystals, but I did. LOL

I have painted little wooden boxes with snowmen and a snow scene with a Christmas tree and wrote the words from a Christmas song...In the meadow you can see a snowman. LOL They were adorable. I nestled a small gift inside.

Yeah, a thread is a good idea, all these things are coming to my mind as I write this. Thanks for the idea.

I know how to save people a lot of money and how to present them like they were purchased at a nice little shop. I used to sell in a shop many years ago.

I used to make dried floral wreaths too.

Man, I have to get my butt back into being creative.

And I can probably talk someone through making those fancy bows that people actually pay money for, the big beautiful ones.

Hi!

I see talks about the coming holidays already. That's fine

I never decorate my apartment on special holidays. Let's say christmas. I hear christmas songs everywhere i go, see christmas trees, all the christmas stuff. So my home remains a "safe space" to get away from all that. But i appreciate the creativity some people have when they decorate.

What I don’t get about Christmas is the amount of people that go all out on a tree, decorations, presents, etc...but think Jesus is a bunch of made up bologna. It’s called Christmas for a reason, and it’s traditionally about celebrating the birth of Jesus.

It’s a crazy goofy world at times. Jesus isn’t welcome at His own birthday party in most homes who celebrate it, these days.

I know it's Jesus' birthday and so do many others.

The trees, decorations and gifts are a tradition where families gather together with love and joy. The trees and decorations also brighten the dull, grey, long, cold days of winter. I think it's magical.

Indeed. Revered winter holidays are not exclusive to anything the Middle East spat out. Globally, all cultures both past & present had/currently have some reverence for one observance or another for mid-winter. The world mythos is rich with various stories for the season's reason or reasons.

I think it's quite unifying to have a secular one the world over can celebrate. For a brief period, all differences matter not and we actively show generosity & appreciation for those we hold dear. Maybe we should use that as inspiration to do better the rest of the year, it only smarts the stubborn to try it.
