Your state insurance commission threw the axe down on health insurers throughout the entire state?

Not the insurance commission, the legislature, quite a while ago.
en.wikipedia.org...

Were their limits thrown on premium increases too?
Increases must be justified. Yes.

Instead of worrying about paying for such high costs, I'd rather look for ways to reduce costs.

We don't seem to be making much headway on that. It's getting worse.

You're right.

Because those we elect only want to find ways to pay for the high costs instead of just lowering costs.

Are you suggesting that we should elect people willing to put caps on healthcare profits?

No.

I'd like to find out why costs are so artificially high first.

Then we need a task force. Get it going DB!

Stupid baby boomers are responsible for the lazy millennials. No surprise they have kept their poor choice decision making.

or end the for profit model all together

If you review my post history, you'll find that I went through a socialist phase as well, but my thinking on the matter has changed considerably in the last year or so.

Let me ask you this, who would you like Trump to appoint as your new healthcare czar?

In all honesty, and without getting political, our government wants single payer.

They've wanted it since Reagan closed the mental health facilities and started over-burdening the hospital system.

the reason Boomers are going bankrupt is because bankruptcy protections cost less than the pain they would feel by cutting back on their life-style of Lining-Beyond-Their-Means.

Fake-Affluence brought about by unmanageable Credit Growth... skrew 'em…

I have followed the personal life of moderation practiced by Ralph Nader... He proclaimed to live modestly on less tan $15 Grand per Year for all of his Adult, high earnings years...
Rollex Watches or Tesla sportsters or $1000 Italian Leather shoes were not on his nor my wish lists..
.McMansions are the trappings for folks with more, easy money than brains.

...I will stay content in an efficiency apt with 4 years of forward lease money paid up...
free over-the-air TV...renting basic high-speed internet @ $14.99 together with $9.01 Netflix and a $21.89 cell phone (flip phone Not an I-Phone) bill keeps me connected...I drive an 8 year old, licensed-insured LSV electric car...my grocery/mall/bank/etc. are all in a 5 mile radius...I request a ride from the DAV van when I go to the VA clinic twice per year... perhaps being born & raised in a Displaced Person Camp in Germany kept me from becoming an 'average' American after all these Years of being a Naturalized Citizen

Oh really? I hadn't noticed. Seriously, I haven't noticed. Seems to me they do everything they can to fight it.

Our government also says they want freedom.

See how well that's working out?

By spending as much as it earns while meeting other certain criteria.

Yes, donations can be part of the income stream of a nonprofit.

One thing that a non-profit designation means is that contributions to such an entity can be tax deductible by the contributor. Other than that, there is no difference from a markup on goods sold by the entity and "profit". If you give something to Goodwill, it's deductible. If you buy something from Goodwill, it isn't.

If you want to blame something blame that farce of a safety net, social security.

It's guaranteed vow of poverty.

its also taking our own personal purchasing power and putting it into the hands of government, which is wasteful and useless

It also means that the organization and it's property are tax exempt... I just hope it stays that way.

Don't get mean on me, Dennis.

Well good for him.

He's still a jerkface.
