Err...

WTF? So um... aerodynamics? How does this thing remain stable? Even the F117 "wobbly goblin" has wings along to help it's stack of computers keep it airborn.

I wonder how many billionaires already own one.

I personally would last approximately 3.589781 seconds in mid-air. If it were to be commercialized, imagine the trials and errors one would have to go through to master the technique? There would need to be a safety shield (perhaps made from airplane windows), as a standard helmet would just crumble into your skull.

It's no bicycle, that's for sure. I'd never let my S/O ride one. Nuh uh. Forget it.

I'll stick to automobiles.
Dot.

Oh yes, now we are talking!!!

Imagen the sheer horror on the enemies faces as a swarm of these landed with a load of hyped up special forces on board..!!
The adrenaline rush from flying one of these must be awesome!

Sweet find dude!

The video is that of the VZ-1 flying platform manufactured by Hiller Helicopter. The first untethered flight took place on January 27 1955.

interesting, i also would guess its has a gyro for stabalization...like the segway. I for one wouldn't want to be standing on a small platform at 10,000 ft.!. What if your flying it at night and you look up at the stars and take a step back...kiss your ass goodbye.

When I heard that "shift your body weight" thing I instantly thought of Segway. I bet that one of the first ones to invest in something like this would be them.
