I am not replying to any particular post you made. Mostly I agree with all you've said here and I think you are doing a good job explaining your position. You are more patient than I am but I think no matter how you describe this, many of these people will never accept it. It goes against their own agenda. Maybe it will help them in the future.

These large tech companies have formed a de facto cartel. They have been doing it since the 80's to make marketing decisions and set standards for their industry and the internet. Now they are doing it with politics. This is proven by the way they all act simultaneously. I expect the next phase will be financial. If he does not submit, he will lose his insurance, credit card processing, bank affiliations, pay pal, and be generally blacklisted. If this isn't enough, he will lose his domains and get booted off the internet altogether.

Tom although what you say is indeed correct, if one is getting their news from facebook or YouTube or info wars for that matter, they are not exactly informed, a better description would be low information so from a pov of wanting to be informed it's no great loss.in my opinion..

Problem, none of them that you have mentioned has been banned except Alex, and thats because he has so many lawsuits against him and real world issues from people listening to his message that have caused violence, or problems for other people.

I can still find all the other on FB, Twitter, and Youtube, along with apple and other formats. For every other person you listed.

Jones is the only issue, weigh that out.

You missed the point I was trying to make.
Twitter banned Milo
YouTube banned Alex
The other two aren't banned yet, but if the left media gets their way they will be.
Candace would always be last as she is a black woman.

Alex Jones screams sometimes yes, so do Dan and Phil. He does not promote hatred, quite the opposite. He was banned because he has influence.

The other two have been temporarily banned, which is the start of it.

I wouldn't call what Alex Jones is going through censorship. That would be from one provider. I call it a blacklist.

So it has been reported that Alex Jones's videos have been blocked from a number of social media websites. Including Facebook and YouTube.

Here is the thing, he still has his own channel. I remember watching his videos on InfoWars.com or something way back in 1999 before YouTube even existed. It is true that YouTube has made his material more widely available, but he still has his own websites where he can host his own material like he always has.

Do YouTube and Facebook have the right to ban him? I would say yes. They can do what they want. AboveTopSecret does the same thing doesn't it?

I myself have been on this website (abovetopsecret) before. And when it became knowledge I was Jehovah's Witness, eveyr single post I made certain people would come to the posts and totally ignore the OP and change the subject stating the same slanders over and over. And I repeatidly would report them about being off-topic. Never was anything done to those off-topic posts. In fact I would get posts deleted.

So just like there are biased people at YouTube, at Facebook, et al. There are biased people here at Abovetopsecret.com as well. They all have their own agendas, their own prejudices. And that is fine.

That is why, for example, the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses host everything themselves and give it away free of charge at JW.ORG and TV.JW.ORG.

Another thing about social media websites and websites like YouTube. They try to monetize the videos posted. If they make money off of dirty and bad videos they become responsible with the bad actors.

The truth should never be monetized or charged money for. The Jehovah's Witness websites never charge 1 cent to anyone. They are fully funded by voluntary donations mainly by Jehovah's Witnesses themselves. Another unique thing in the Internet. And they have their website available in over 900 languages, almost 1,000.

Russia is the only nation on the planet that has blocked JW.ORG. And they have also banned the Christian activity of Jehovah's Witnesses as extremist. And have banned the Bible.

But so far, elsewhere, such as in the United States the government itself has not banned people like Alex Jones. So no violation against Constitution has been committed.

Although acts of prejudice are happening on a daily basis among these websites. Including this one. I am used to it. I grew up with lies told about me and my worship of God. And faced bitter opposition from classmates and teachers in school in the Untied States for serving Jehovah God. And watched as media portrayed us in the most unfavorable light, and outright lied about us many times.

I knew this has been going on since I was born. Since the advent of the internet, other people are realizing how much propoganda, lies, and prejudice exist everywhere in society.

Am I advocating for Alex Jones? No. Not at all.

Google and Facebook are publicly traded companies, that comes with the territory of not being able to do just whatever the hell you want. Means youre under extra rules, alot of them.

My only question is why now? Well actually not my only question because not only why now but why several platforms at the same time? He's been around forever and haven't heard of him doing anything much more outlandish or threatening than he has done in the past. Was it a snowball effect where one platform done it, then others followed suite? Or a coordinated effort with more to come? I believe so, and that this is just the beginning. I guess we will see. Maybe once they ban someone more ATS members agree with and deem credible, then we will have our outrage. Everyone who says these are companies and have every right to ban whoever they want are correct, but has to make you wonder why he was OK for the platforms for so long, until one day he suddenly wasn't.

Why now? Because TPTB have the public eating out of their hand like never before right now. They have them all whipped up into an irrational frenzy and when people get like that they will make excuses for just about anything.

Public opinion has maybe never been so massively against conspiracy theories as it is right now. Not only do people not believe conspiracy theories right now. They're actually pissed off about it and are willing to believe someone like Alex Jones is dangerous.

From there, it only takes the usual public apathy.

The leftist are also attacking his website but trying to get base level internet providers to cancel his internet access. He would have to go directly to the internet and become their own internet provider. Also need to make mirror sites around the world as live backup. I wonder if he could go on Microsoft sold internet services and not have to go through this BS.

I am abhorred by censorship of both Alex Jones and Jehova Witnesses in modern society.

2 things you have said make me a scratch my head.

". And have banned the Bible."

To clarify, is it not the Jehova Witness translation of the Bible that is banned in Russia? I guess it is a bit different than most Bibles or perhaps contrary to Russian Orthodox mainstream beliefs? I also seem to remember certain Bibles being forbidden by my ex gf's Kingdom Hall (JW church), which I found interesting.

"Every cent donated to the organization goes to building buildings and making videos, feeding volunteers, housing them, and publishing literature. 100%

"ETA: Also to disaster relief efforts around the world"

When I lived with my ex-gf I watched videos from the Watch Tower Society for its members on what it does. It seemed to very clearly state that all disaster relief efforts were purely for other Jehova Witnesses around the world and not for others outside of its organization (showed clips saying "all the volunteers and those being helped were fellow JWs.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I remember no one in the family having an answer on why the watch tower society does not help others on the outside for disaster relief the same way every other religion or even large company does.

I find it odd you would mention your church contributes to disaster relief efforts world wide but not mention the efforts are only for members of your organization.

You are quite wrong. It is true Jehovah's Witnesses focus on helping each other. But they help neighrbors and many others as well. They just don't go talking about it to everyone.

People who have been helped know. And I know of many experiences where that was the case.

For example after a hurricane in Florida while Jehovah's Witnesses rebuilt the house of a fellow brother and sister, they also went to their neighbors homes and helped them rebuild theirs. With their own material and their own labor, without charging. The neighbors could not believe the love they were being shown. In fact they were very opposed to Jehovah's Witnesses their entire lives. But after seeing first-hand how they behaved, and after being ignored by their own Church, they started a Bible study and were soon Jehovah's Witnesses themselves.

I have helped many people materially and physically throughout the years. I know all Jehovah's Witnesses do. A part of being a Christian is being good to people and giving to them and helping them physically where they need it.

Whether it is mowing the lawn for an elderly neighbor, or buying groceries for a neighbor in need. Or helping a person on the street who is hungry to eat. We need to show human kindness to each other in these ways all the time. I know that. All Jehovah's Witnesses know that. And they are a great help to their communities and the societies they reside in. They just don't go show-boating the good they do. Because that is just the way it is supposed to be.

That was only the next step considering: With the e-mail service Jone's uses all of the accounts were cancelled. So was Disqus, now there's no more comment sections on that it provided on his sites.

Correct he's in a position now where he's has to find services that will support him(likely will be hounded to drop him however) or he has to have his own developed.

Thank you for your reply. I think your spot on. They are now testing a system like this in China. You get a social media ranking for being a good citizen. If you fall too low you are blacklisted and people do not want to associate with you as it affects there rating.

Of course nobody here would have a problem with that as it would be done by private companies.

So that's a no then, you can't provide proof either you just write some crap about critical thinking and 3 letter agencies, nobody is stopping you getting your news from Alex Jones or Q for that matter are they?

Dont listen to Alex Jones I think its a load or trip. But the difference between me and you is I think that people should be able to make their own minds up.

That's a huge leap, and the fact that you accuse me of groupthink or worse goes to show just how far out of touch you are. None of what is happening is any real surprise, censorship is and has been happening for a while, Alex Jones is an alt right lunatic and does nothing to lend any real credibility to conspiracy theories.

Alex Jones is screams fringe material and i bet he's kicked off or not being profitable enough... Money rules that's the real conspiracy.

There was a JW Kingdom Hall very close to my old residence and I even had a visit one afternoon from them to see if I was interested in finding out more about them and if I wanted to attend an event of theirs. I took the flyer, but was honest and politely told them I didn't think I would attend their event, but wished them a nice day. They were very friendly and polite, quite different to how they have been portrayed by some sources.

In regards to the Alex Jones ban: while I have never really been much into his work, I do believe in and value freedom of speech, so I do not support their decision to ban him. It is true that companies have the right to deny service to those they deem to breaking their T&Cs, but to go on all about the whole "hate speech" thing just to silence people feels like censorship.

Freedom of speech is critical to a free society.

I am not in the slightest bit surprised. This has been happening for years now. Money rulling is not the real conspiracy. Those that rule the money are.

These companies need to decide if they are an outlet for information or a social platform. They can't be both. If you are an outlet which many claim to be then you must adhere to one's freedom of speech. Which they clearly aren't.. Bunch of leftists authoritarian ***holes of you ask me...
