Which kinda means Alex Jones is nothing. Just a dude with an opinion that he admits sane people wouldn't buy into.

I've seen thousands of those over the years. All they need is a platform that delivers an audience.

Its the people who hold the audience that are "something". Audience holders have power. That is Facebook, Itunes, Twitter, etc. Jones was just in their stable of entertainment.

Facebook have just created a martyr - bad move on their part.

Well, as people have the attention span of a gnat, he'll be a martyr for three seconds and then be forgotten. TBH people like Alex Jones deserve to be forgotten outside of a comedy club.

There is a time and place, while they are out with there families is neither the time nor place.

So it's more of a matter or etiquette and what you find personally acceptable, not violence or harassment.

Ok.

Same with any professional etiquette, people don't berate people they do business with while they are off the clock and with their families.

That's a false equivalence.

That is exactly what politicians do.

While I wouldn't go so far as to say she crossed a line, freedom of speech is a great right, but it comes with responsibility as well. That said, I would view it as harassment to have people told to voice their disagreements with me while I'm having dinner with my family. There are other channels, like calling your congressman, protesting, or this crazy thing called voting, which most people don't do.

Sure. I think it is in poor taste, but I would not say violence or harassment.

Many people take a position such as you have. They think we should know our place and only express our grievances in a manner they find suitable.

Infowar is complete hogwash but this banning crap is bigger hogwash.

This censoring bs will lead us to nothing good except a well manipulated controlled society.

Besides the obvious ones, I'm curious to see who here would actually condone what Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk just endured...

Sad to see this harassment in public, even sadder that some see it as simply voicing opinions because it happens to be their political enemy being attacked.

Then again, it wouldn't be 'the left' without good ol hypocrisy.

I am kind of on the fence on this one, on the one hand I understand that its their house and so its their rules and its up to them if they see fit to remove someone from using their service as they see fit. Much in the same way that if I don't play by the house rules of ATS I face being banned.

Much ado about nothing.
If you do not want to follow their t&c don't expect to be able to participate.

I know somebody who is going to miss his hysterical little lying buddy --

Donald Trump enjoys taking advice from those outside the political sphere. A leaked audio recently revealed the mogul-turned-politico invited wealthy members of his New Jersey golf club to help interview candidates for posts in his administration after he won.

But it turns out club guests might not be the only political outsiders pressed for their presidential advice, Mr Trump reportedly also picks up the phone to call far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones for his tutelage.

Maybe Trump will issue an executive order, that Jones is the real deal.

Again, I said I personally don't see it as crossing a line, but in today's political climate, I think that directive would lead to harassment. Whether that was her intentions or not.

Just an opinion, and I'm sure you can tell I'm not outraged by what she said, just calling it how I see it. Not to say that's how it is.

How is it that i said apple is controlling me?

I said this trend will lead us there. I have seen it first hand coming from a communist dictatorship where the media was completely censored. Censorship is a tool for control on society.

This is a very slippery slope when we atart censoring people because we don't agree with what they say.

This is from the same group of individuals who decided that "ghosting" comments made by people would be a good idea. Make a comment on a forum and if it matches one of their censorship keyword rules, it get's blocked from viewing by anyone else but the original author can still see it.

That messes with people's minds who then think they are being ignored by everyone else.

Google and Reddit do that. You questions things or post something bot accounts don't like. The bots will report you or down vote you to the point where your comments don't show up when logged out. When you do login, your comment is at the very bottom of page on reddit.

But Apple is doing the removal of content, not the government. This situation WON'T lead to the media being controlled by the government because the government isn't involved here. SOOOO if you are implying that control will be implemented by this decision then you are implying that Apple is controlling you.
