The problem is that there as so many uses for wood:

Actually....if we needed to we could produce super woods and trees in labs these days,but they cost alot of money. a few boards from one runs around 10,000 bucks last i checked,but the wood is super strong and almost never rots.
Or i might be confusing it with something else.
