Democrats who are pushing for the impeachment of President Donald Trump will have $110 million to spend on the cause, thanks to the efforts of
left-wing billionaire Tom Steyer.
Steyer’s organizations, NextGen America and Need to Impeach, will also have a combined 1,000 employees and 2,000 staffers as they take the case for
impeachment to voters in November, according to Politico.
Tom Steyer plans to spend at least $110 million in 2018, making the billionaire investor the largest single source of campaign cash on the left and
placing him on a path to create a parallel party infrastructure with polling, analytics and staffing capabilities that stand to shape and define the
issues the party runs on in November

So far I only knew the name Steyer from the Podesta emails that Wikileaks dropped a few years ago.
I wonder: What are the factual grounds for Impeachment? And why do Democrats believe this is the way they'll win votes?
I think the Breitbart article is not correct on a number of issues (someone else has already posted about the company and its goals.)
So... grounds for impeachment? Basically, Congress sets the rules. However, if you look at
the impeachment of Bill Clinton you can see grounds that they might use:
Clinton was accused of one count of perjury and one of obstruction of justice. These charges stemmed from a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against
Clinton by Paula Jones. (So we've got Trump and Stormy Daniels and a fairly similar situation including his version of Monica Lewinsky) They also
tried to get him on a second charge of
abuse of power
If you'll recall, Trump first said there was no relationship with Stormy Daniels, then he said there was no payoff, then he said that Cohen paid her
off without his knowledge and now he's saying (that he paid her off but it wasn't from campaign contributions.) Just imagine the situation if Clinton
had tried that...
And Trump
has a history of lying under
oath
Now... he hasn't yet since he took office because he hasn't had to give his oath on anything. But if Mueller gets him in court, the "pants on fire"
hammer is going to show up pretty quickly, accompanied with his usual word salad.
And arguably, several of his firings could be taken as abuse of power - trying to stuff people in judicial positions who would rule in his favor in
any legal matter, regardless of what the law says.
