Just a day after a Washington Post report said Pruitt had pushed aides to help him find a six-figure job for his wife and CNN reported that he had asked Trump to fire Attorney General Jeff Sessions and put him in his place—among other revelations, Fox news host and Trump supporter Laura Ingraham added her own voice to the growing condemnation of the administrator.

Ugh. Good riddance.

The new guy isn't really much better, as far as looking out for the environment goes.

Well, for starters, his most recent job was as an energy lobbyist. His biggest clients included Murray Energy Corporation, which proudly bills itself as the largest coal mining company in America, and whose CEO, Robert E. Murray, vigorously fought the Obama administration’s attempts to reduce carbon emissions and strengthen environmental and public health laws. Shortly after Trump took office, Murray, an unabashed climate denier, presented Vice President Mike Pence with a ridiculously pro-coal “action plan” that called for doing away with the Clean Power Plan, withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement, eliminating federal tax credits for renewable energy, and—yes—halving the EPA’s workforce.

He's under like 14 investigations for a plethora of ethics violations and assorted swampy #. I wouldn't even know where to begin. In the last week, it was revealed by a whistleblower that he was having his aides edit his schedule to remove meetings with lobbyists before releasing to the public and that he had aides put his hotel stays on their personal credit cards and then failed to pay them back.

Those who are hoping for a major change at the EPA will be disappointed. Scott Pruitt's replacement is just like him, minus the scandals.

Unfortunately. The proverbial combo of feet + fire will usually shape someone up real quick, though. The catch is actually doing it.

What Trump really needs to do is hire the person that knows how to hire the right people. Trump is terrible at hiring 'only the best people'.
