Man jailed for life after spitting on police officer

I happen to like this part of the charge.

"John Marquez, 36, was convicted of "placing bodily fluid upon a government employee."

Maybe if he knew he was getting a life sentance he should have pissed on the police officer instead.

And this kind of sentence is fully supported by the USA Patriot Act.

What the hell? Wheres the justice in that? People have got less than that for murder!

That is absolutely ridiculous. Sure, he shouldn't have done it, but a life sentence!! They wanna concentrate on putting away murderers and rapists.

He also assaulted the officer (i.e. bit him as well), and had numerous prior convictions....(obviously, the jury felt this guy needed to be put away...) However, I'll agree that "life" is going a bit too far....
