How did you feel about being in front of your instructor? Did you realize that would put you first at the crash scene, had there been one?
Old joke. Rivalries between hang glider pilots and parapanties.
Would you rather be a jellyfish or a dolphin? That's another one.

This is wild.
A woman was parasailing in Puerto Vallarta and things went really wrong. Being a hang glider pilot, my first reaction was "What? 45 minutes? A parasail?" Parasails are not known for being high performance wings to say the least. However, upon seeing video of the incident it is quite apparent what happened. The appearance of the clouds makes it obvious that atmospheric conditions were very unstable, meaning that there was a lot of vertical air movement. Thermal updrafts. She got caught by a boomer and was hurled skyward. Not a good day to be parasailing.
I've often found myself in a similar situation, with the differences being that I was flying something designed to do just that and I was looking for that thermal.
