Thats not capitalism that is imperialism where a king owns the country. For example even in Britain today money is payed to the crown.

And this isn't the first time imperialism cost deaths. Problem is their is different forms and they dont have a common thread other then a monarch os in charge. Monarchys are only as good as the king in charge. Some were great others caused suffering.

That looks like Big Government (tyranny) and Cronyism.

Death by capitalism would be if the People start killing fellow competitors to increase their own wealth. Once you involve the government giving advantages to one group over another it isn't laissez-faire capitalism.

One culture forcing their will on a more primitive technological race of beings is all part of history. These are invaders into your homeland. If you look at colonialism after stripping away all the high sounding B.S. the usual reason is for commodities or or slave labor from those being conquered .. In other words the conquered had something the big boys wanted..

Conquers....... moving in to your backyard.... throughout history is usually very bad for the locals. In the past it might take several years but the locals finally throw off the yoke of their masters in a bloody uprising. But throw off they do if there are any left !

But the thread is about communism and socialism.. As one of the replies to the thread mention what happens when there are no jobs just robots ? In that case I can see a form of socialism.... probably after the population is whittled down to some manageable level by the PTB.

This is it. Socialism works fine if you don't let a crazy person run the nation and turns it into communism, or you get out side influences lending 'help'.

You are going to have to explain to me how you can be “right leaning with left leaning ideas but with conservative values”. That premise is a complete contradiction. Don’t get me wrong, not taking sides, but the Democratic party, daily, pushes a Socialist agenda, starting with its’ Congressional leaders...so, from the top. As always, less Republican, Less Democrat, More Constitution.

Back to OP. Just seeing the numbers that died (and I’m sure millions more suffered) because of what human beings can do to one another is staggering...and sad. While no political system will ever be perfect, I would take my chances with Capitalism over all the rest. At least you generally don't get killed for asking questions of those in power.

What is colonialism ?? Isn't it for maximum profits??? Isn't it a form of extreme hostile take over?? a monarchy can be a capitalist entity as well as a republic or a democracy the East and West India companies were formed for just that, maximizing profits, and if Laissez-faire capitalism is roughly defined as any and everything goes as long as the share holders are happy ,don't you think the human cost under such a system would be equally horrible.

But in a contest on a large scale, Capitalism will beat Communism because of the greed = innovation factor..what that dude said on Wall St. Is true ..greed is good.
However on a micro or village level communism works, ask anyone who have ever been to a Kibbutz.
