But but... black lives matter. SMDH.

I'm an old head, so I didn't really get into his music. I just knew him like most of these tight jean rappers more from social media than actual music. He seemed troubled, but had started to take a more positive and enlightened look at life. Really sad.

Probably killed over nothing...

This is crazy. First Peep and now X. R.I.P.

This song is kind of haunting right now, 'I don't want to go outside and get caught in traffic'.

You might be both. But fear not because.. 'tribal liberalism', and that's OK.

It's not at all crazy when you look at their lifestyles.

Lil Peep would accept free drugs from fans, more than likely never testing them with a kit before taking them.

XXX lived the thug lifestyle. More than likely making enemies with very bad people.

It comes down to being prepared to accept the consequences of your choices in life.

Yet young enough to identify the subgenre "mumble rap". I see a half-full glass before you.

It's unfortunate... I'm cut from the same cloth but managed to get away from it all.

People don't understand now a days that trying to be 'gangster' just because it's trendy, has consequences. Most people I grew up with in the hood, like me, were always looking for a way out, but Now a days these kids are looking for a way in...

The culture is killing these young rappers, it's an agenda pushed by not the hip-hop community, but the investors and companies putting these type of 'rappers' in the spotlight.

He was on a path of enlightenment, and maybe that's what led to his transcendence...

From the sounds of things, even if this guy was armed, he would have died. If he was in the car, then short of attempting to drive out of the situation, he had no mobility, no acceptable cover. Tactically speaking, he was screwed the moment someone drew on him, and would have been, even if he had been carrying a very trustworthy and capable tool for his own defence. Since no car ever built can accelerate fast enough from a stop, that a person could not shoot the driver before they escaped, and also given that being in a car, especially a high performance, weight limited car like that means that your cover options are way beyond limited also, it would not have mattered what he had in his hands. But pepper spray lol, I guess? I am all for the right to keep and carry arms, but using this as an opportunity to rag on pepper spray advocates? I cannot say I approve in the slightest.

As for the individual, I don't give a damn who he was, or what kind of art he claimed to be involved in. The fact is a young person with an awful lot of life left in them, died before their time, one of countless others of whom we could say the same. I would hope that this death will be investigated and the perpetrators of this crime be bought to justice.

Right now, things are confused. We have some people thinking this was a drive by, some people thinking this was a robbery, and from where I sit, the two motivations for this murder are pretty visibly different from one another, from a bystanding point of view. People doing a drive by hit do not stop their car, get out, and fire their weapons. They keep rolling on, while delivering rounds to target. People looking to perform a car jacking, or a robbery on a person in a car, have to get out of their own vehicle ordinarily, in order to perform the robbery.

Someone must know already which of these scenarios is the one which occurred, and I hope that someone comes forward to shed much needed light on that. Otherwise, it will be a matter of waiting for forensic examination of the scene to be completed, and as we know, this is a more labourious task than is commonly depicted in popular television shows related to investigative efforts.

I hope the family and the friends of the deceased are getting the support and the love they need from those they know as well.

I think the main thing that messes me up about these new artists dying is that you actually get to see them dead now.

When Peep died, I saw a video that Bexey took of him laying back dead and gray in his tour bus, right after it happened. And someone posted a video of X dead in his car after the shooting yesterday on YouTube.

I’ve seen death a lot of times in front of me, but that video of Peep still haunts me for some reason. Used to be when artists died you just read an article about them, felt sad, whatever. Now with cameras everywhere the whole world gets to see them as they died.

That’s the thing. Most of these new rappers in the underground aren’t from the hood. It’s just part of the aesthetic. X’s music wasn’t even gangster rap, it was more emo, alternative, kind of shoe gaze rap.

I think this was just a random robbery gone bad, and would have happened whether it was him or someone else in the same place at the same time. It probably had more to do with him driving up in his i8 shopping for motorcycles than the music he made.

Somebody saw him shining, rolled up, robbed him and shot him. They probably didn’t even know who he was.

One of the main reasons I liked X was because of how he seamlessly transitioned between hip hop, alternative grunge, to almost spoken word, to trap music. He was one of the most versatile artists I've ever heard.

Here's a more hip hop song with almost an MF Doom feel-

Here's an almost spoken word/poetry song-

He was definitely one of the most talented people in the game. R.I.P

No BLM outrage? Will Colin kneel? Where is Shaun King? Mainstream media will not make a peep about this. The outrage can only be real if you can get enough gulable white liberals to holler. The powers that be do this by stirring up the fake emotions of these brainwashed liberals. Only make a stink if it can benefit you politically.

Lots of rappers and hip hop personalities died or got shot this month, but the border stuff is way more important?

www.latimes.com... witness intimidation after being jailed for beating up and kidnapping his pregnant gf

The rapper XXXTentacion is back in jail in Florida on charges of harassing a witness, according to new reports. The seven new charges stem from a 2016 domestic violence case in which the rapper, born Jahseh Onfroy, was charged with battery of a pregnant woman and false imprisonment, among other offenses. The new charges include four first-degree felonies and three second-degree felonies. If convicted, he could face multiple years in prison. In March, Onfroy was released from jail after pleading no contest to charges of armed home invasion robbery and aggravated battery with a firearm. He was out on bond when the new charges emerged.

never listened to his music but my buddy who runs a rap label was one of the only ones to even know who this guy was in my friends group before his death the only thing i had heard about him was the aforementioned beating of pregnant gf/random lady? and for being that guy from the viral video who got knocked out on stage by an angry fan

en.wikipedia.org... i guess he also hated black lives matter and said all lives mattered ,had a music video of hanging a white kid (with parents permission mind you so not like actually trying to kill the kid) faking his suicide for media attention and a Bevvy of assaults at his concerts on fans, gun charges and more felony charges then Deathrow records entire Label
