So the USA should be more like other countries?

I think your ancestors would disagree.

Yes, sweet Georgia Brown, nothing says "I'm triggered" like a sequence of short, flippant, facetious replies from me, ya?

Not what I said at all. The ones complaining never compare. Lets start with lets say Mexico. How do they deal with illegal immigration? Is it worse than the us? Do they have sanctuary cities and facilities to take care of kids whom parents broke their laws and went to jail?

A Honduran woman has accused US border officials of ripping her infant daughter away from her as she was breastfeeding her at a detention center in Texas, according to a report.

The undocumented immigrant had been held under the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance policy, which refers anyone caught crossing the border from Mexico illegally for prosecution, CNN reported.

The unnamed woman tearfully told her attorney, Natalia Cornelio, that when she resisted, she was promptly handcuffed.

Many other sources as well, I just happened to grab this one. It was all over the news, as well as children being taken and the mothers told they were going to give them a bath, and they never saw them again.

The story has been denied, but CNN has the video. If you would watch something other than the heavily propagandized Fox network, you might actually see what's going on.

I don't watch Fox, and that's a fact I've stated many times in various threads. Maybe you should take your own advice and watch something other than CNN's propaganda.

We are talking about millions of illegals, there are going to be some cases which have unsavory elements to them. I'm not supportive of splitting minors from their parents... load them up together and deliver them back to their nation of legal origin as a complete family unit. That's humane and proper.

Not surprised at all. I shouldn't have bothered. Go back to your bubble.

Well, if insulting me is all you can muster, then it is what it is.

Enjoy your evening.

Tip of the day -

Just because I disagree with you and feel as though virtue signalling has driven you away from reality doesn't mean I'm insulting you.

I'm sure you're a lovely person. But your type of response is exactly what's wrong with politics and culture today.

What a waste of ATS space..
Tripe . An entire wall of tripe deriving things from one statement without catching the thought
You did read the part about the foster parent program is already overloaded , right ?
You did read the part about the US doing the best we can , right ?
At least now we know why Obama recommissioned shut down Wal-Marts
No , just like any liberal parrot , you concentrated all your ignorance on one statement.
So , I ask again , are you Nancy Pelosi ?
Oh , wait , you cant be.
You could not pass the requirements for running for US Congress.

The kids are better off in that facility than being out on the streets as homeless kids.

How do you know this? I know many kids are abused in places that supposedly are helping them.

So they should be thrown out on the streets till their parents get out of jail? Alrighty.

None of these issues would exist if proper border security existed in the first place.

Common sense needs to stop being stamped out by partisans.

This is a crisis situation. I pray someday we are not as desperate.

Nearly all the boys are Central American or Mexican, Hinojosa said. Last year, 95% of all children detained at the border and transferred to ORR custody were from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, according to data from Customs and Border Protection. Children and families from those countries have been fleeing grinding poverty, gang violence and some of the highest national homicide rates in the world.

This is an opinion. YOUR opinion. I thought we were supposed to stay off discussing each other and stick to the subject.

Something wicked this way comes indeed...and it is misinformation. The children are not incarcerated. However they are provided safe warm or cool places to await their parents decisions. Hopefully they make better ones than dragging their child across an open desert or stuffing them into the back of a truck and hoping for the best.

We have children that are citizens in worse conditions than what is provided for these young children. Where are the citizens of the immigrant community, why are they not offering their homes as alternatives ? Because no one gave a hoot yesterday but today now that Trump is involved it's Viva La Resisrance...the same policy was enforced under previous admins, and if it's to be changed then Congress who enacted the law needs to be the ones to change it, make them do their jobs.

Read what happens to someone that crosses Mexico's border illegally, it's not pretty, and that's if you can climb the wall l, yes they have a wall and American money probably paid for it.

We must fix the underlying problem. Now that some are advocating amnesty, you have many trying to get here before it is passed so they can claim it. I am all for allowing those here to stay and for letting everyone else in but it must be done with some common sense, they must be processed like everyone else.

What I've thought for a while now is that people have been paid/hired to post lots of stupid stuff here, on ATS, to discredit the website and the real conspiracies. I mean how can serious and relevant posts be taken seriously alongside so many stupid posts. Its an easy way to destroy this outlet.

You think of all the people who used to post here - serious investigators in various fields, well you don't see them around anymore.

WE ARE ALL JUST PEOPLE

Wait, wait, wait... are you suggesting Conservatives came up with the NAACP, GLAAD, LGBT, ANTIFA, La Raza, adding whatever country your minority ancestry came from before "-American" when describing yourself, 80 different pandering and excuse dripping terms for "less fortunate," the devisive concept of white privilege, "Mansplaining," hiring quotas, tracking all incarcerations by race to compare to white rates, special protection under the law groups, "hate crime" laws, and I could continue but the idea is clear? Are you seriously ballsy enough to suggest Conservatives are behind application of all these classifications, or is it just that the classifications only matter when they can conveniently be used as an excuse, a tool to pander for future votes, or when some special unequal legal consideration is needed to grab a quick payday or save an ass from their own stupidity, laziness, or lack of self control?

Wish I could give you several more stars for this.

I'm really curious OP, how do you propose that this problem be handled? I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you are sincere with this thread. Although, reminds me of some kind of sociological experiment.

The pictures I saw of the facility looked like really clean & organized & new. Most hospitals & schools don't look as clean as that place looked. The all looked healthy, dressed in clean clothes, etc. I know it sounds weird but in many ways it reminded me of a "Shelter" - crazy huh? For those that don't know, that's where people can go when they don't have other options.

I seem to remember a few years ago hearing the horrible problem of all this "little kids" coming to the border UNACCOMPANIED. I also remember hearing reports that they had put them up in hotels & given them all iPads. Hmmm. I remember questioning How. In. The. World???. did "little kids" arrive at our very dangerous Southern border ALONE. When I saw the photographs back then, they didn't look like "little kids" at all - they looked like young men. I also remember that many of those "little kids" were placed in American homes with disturbing results.

Now, I don't know if this new facility (that is being compared to by some idiots to Concentration Camps - really?) is connected to the story from a few years ago (I believe that was before DJT was 'In Power") but there is obviously a big problem with minors showing up en masse at the border. Some, if not many arrive with no parent or an adult that can't prove that they are the parent. In this situation, it seems the kids are more grade school age so more likely the influx hoping for amnesty.

Seems to me that the first questions to ask are:

How are they getting here without their parents and why? Next would be, How do we stop it & then what do we do in the mean time? It seems to me that it is better & much safer to put them all in a place like this instead of spreading them out all over in the care of God knows who. It would be much easier to keep track of them which I believe was a complaint about a week ago.

It's definitely a horrible situation but who put them there in the first place? Of course, no one wants to see this happen so I really want to hear anyone on the left that has been screaming bloody murder about this for the last few weeks to offer up better solutions. Should they put them in the jail with their parents assuming that's where the parents are? Put them right back on a bus? So far, I haven't heard anyone give a better alternative than housing a safely as possible & trying to reunite them with family members as soon as possible.

Wait, how about this? How about a celebrity campaign - Adopt An Unaccompanied Minor For A Month or 2.
................ On 2nd thought - probably not a great idea - some of them are nuts!

IDK. I'm not saying I have a brilliant plan, just sounds to me like we are doing what we can & FAR MORE than any other country would do for kids in this situation. Would really love to hear how to do it better.

Oh for pity's sake. Everybody is dancing around the truth here. This sick excuse of a human being is holding children HOSTAGE until he gets money for his stupid wall.

Do you really think this sicko narcissist has the capacity to feel empathy for those parents and children? Do any of you really think he cares, or is able to care about anything other than himself? By his own obvious personality disorder, he is not... able.... to care.

All he cares about is his perceived "political success".

Piss off Canada, the UK, Australia, Germany, and France, and suck up to Kim and Putin.

Keep children hostage to get his way and satisfy his base.

Worse president ever.

Seems a test of the FEMA camp system tbh. People should be scared not necessarily because of how they're dealing with illegals (though their police state attitude is disconcerting) but how the same system could be used against American citizens.

"National emergency" requiring "extraordinary measures", anyone?
