Thousands of people rush Area 51...

What would happen? Would the Government just kill everyone? How do you think they would deal with it. I dont think they could stop a full scale rush of thousands unless they bombed them or something. Im sure many would loose there lives but would this work? IMO, it would put military officials in a very difficult postion I would think especially if it was televised. I know it sounds like the movie Independance Day and all but Im just wondering if any good would come out of it.
