I was there last night with a few friends..

The sounded as rough as you expected them to with the exception of Dave Lombardo on drums.
I'm not sure if Doyle hit a single note right
Glenn's voice isnt what it is with him being in his 60s and so many decades of singing.
Tickets were expensive.

It was 100000%%%%% worth it in every way..
I'm in my 40s and if you listened to punk or that style of music since the late 70s then you probably at least knew of or loved The Misfits.
I'm not a fan of the Graves era or the abominations that were the Jerry Only led version but by them still getting out there during that time additional generations of fans and countless bands formed in the genre they created. The Kryst the Conqueror release that Only and Doyle put out was fun for what it was..

Anyway..A few people bypassed all the cell phone restrictions and videos are showing up ....Ignore the song list in the video title, its wrong.

God damn, they're still at it? I remember seeing them in NYC, Hammerstein ballroom back in like 97! That was during my punk phase! I loved me some Misfits! Whats Danzig up too these days? Has he ever reunited with them?

Wait, is that Danzig??

I gotta say, they look great for their age! I think they sound just fine! Damn, I wish I was there!

You saw one of the later version of The Misfits without Danzig as the singer if you saw them in 97.
He left The Misfits in 83 and went on to form Samhain (my favorite of his 3 bands) then the band Danzig.

The Misfits lead by Jerry Only found a new lead singer in Michael Graves and put out a few albums. Also Jerry Only and DOyle put out a Christian album project that went by the name Kryst the Conqueror.

A few years ago as close to the original lineup as you can get played the RIot Fest in Chicago and Denver..Danzig, Doyle and Jerry Only with Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Grip INC and other bands) on drums and Acey Slade ( various bands) backing them. They then played a show at Vegas and one at the Forum in LA before playing last night..

Yup, it was Graves at the time but they played all the hits. He wasn't Danzig but beggars couldn't be choosers and it was a great show! My favorite Misfit albums were the original even though I did like the one with Graves.

Looks like I missed out on a hell of a show! I wish I was still in contact with my old buddy who got me into punk music back in the day because I bet he was there.

Wouldn't mind seeing them live...but honestly I'd rather see Fugazi.

Just depends on what style you like or personal preference.

I preferred Minor Threat to Fugazi but would see either.

I was shooting a commercial two weeks ago in Rockland county. I’m in make up, getting ready. We’re filming in a pizzeria. Some loud guy came in, cut up t-shirt all muscles, walks right up to me and introduces himself as Jerry Misfits! Kinda the way a biker introduces himself. I’m like what did he say?? Chased him down, I had a brand new t-shirt with tags still on in my van (Misfits shirt) it blew him away! Many pictures later, I gave him one of my company shirts , got him posing with it. Incredibly cool guy, he sang Italian songs for the whole restaurant, then invited everyone to his house the next weekend. I couldn’t go because we were filming in Connecticut that day, but made a new friend. Danzig I’ve been told is a complete a-hole, but jerry Only is really awesome. That my Misfits tale!!

As Big a D-Bag as Danzig can be
The only real Misfits is the one with him singing.

I had the, uh, pleasure? of meeting Glenn. Dude's a dick.
Totally worth it.

Love that they're still out there doing their thing.

I like all the styles, just really dig that Fugazi stood by their principles and gave free concerts at times, not to mention what was it...never selling a concert ticket over $10 or something. That was awesome.

Saw them in LA at the Forum over New Years. Pretty much the same assessment. Danzig's voice was rough, backup guitar player doing the bulk of the work, Glenn spouting off ridiculous conspiracy crap, Dave Lombardo having the easiest night of playing drums that he could imagine (while allowing the Misfits to be tighter than they ever were before). It'd been a while since I'd seen Danzig play. Dude is looking older (obviously). Saw him solo only once since seeing Samhain in the 80s. But was it worth it... totally.

ps - for the bulk of their existence Fugazi shows were always $5 or less.
