Just as a side story and some information. I have a guy that works for me who retired military as an E8 and makes about 100k a year plus his retirement. He and his wife decided to buy and live in a RV instead of renting or buying a house. They are happy with it, and the one thing that you have now that many do not have is mobility to go to anywhere where a job takes you. If I were you I would be looking 49 state wide for better paying job.

I say this for you to not think you are now at some bottom that you can not get out of.

Cherish every moment you have with your
wife.

Thank you. I do cherish our love.

I saw your OP and am in your corner...

The university that employed my mother for twenty years did the same thing to her; to us her family. She retired with a pension severely slashed.
The only direction to go is forward no matter the obstacles huh?

So to update my thread;
The trial week turns out that things are going well and I have a lot of work lined up so much that I'm feeling my fourty-eight years. My wife's condition is improving thanks to the security/stability.
I got an inverter and 200 watts of solar as a back up, an hdtv antenna with eight free tv channels. But no internet wifi... Just this phone for now.

Things are improving for me and mine.

I hope people who are struggling to endure difficulty in their lives keep moving forward over and through whatever obstacles keeping them from finding happiness.
Happiness to me is spending time with loved ones.

How about the triple crown winning horse race at the Belmont Stakes, Justify. It's gonna be a good year, it may have started off like an absess but once we lance it we can begin the healing huh?

All my positive energy to you and yours.
Back in the 70s my Dad trained thoroughbreds
race horses.

Stay strong

update:
The wife and I are now Las Vegas residents.
And I start work tomorrow for a prevailing wage employer.

The guy that allowed me to park my rv on his property, Bill, gave me a 500 dollar severance package.

I gave away the rv to another friend to do with it whatever he chooses...

The feeling of accomplishment lifts my spirit ever higher.

Hard work and determination with a can-do attitude got us here.

Feels good having my old laptop up and running.

It's good to be back in action.

see ya around the board
