Dear members of ATS

I love ATS simply for the fact that there are brilliant minds, discussing important matters, and making them much easier for me ( not the sharpest tool in the tool shed ) to digest and take stance on.

I don't care if you're a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or a reptilian for the matter, so long as you contribute an unbiased open minded opinion and keep your self righteous non sense to yourself while discussing REAL facts, REAL motives, and the REAL issues at hand, I'll respect and listen to you as you should do for me, or anyone else on this forum.

The more conflict we face, the more I fear the future days to come. Guns are becoming a bigger and bigger issue, we have half the population pushing for a gun control agenda, we have blatant corruption getting swept under the rug whilst being put on display right in front of our faces, we have the biggest division rate amongst gender, politics, race, religion, sexuality... the list goes on and on...

Unfortunately I don't see a positive outcome in our futures ladies and gentlemen, please appreciate the ones you love and even the ones you don't, try to fill yourself with less hatred towards one another and thrive off of a different, more positive energy! These times we live in are very scary at times...

That was very sensitive and sweet and I appreciate your thoughts. Unfortunately, the history of humans and animals has always been fraught with violence of one kind or another. We don't seem to be evolving too much in that area.

Personally, I greatly fear guns but also see the necessity in many circumstances. If not guns, we will soon have lasers.

Self protection and the protection of loved ones is a natural instinct and weapons do serve that purpose.

I know, understand, and respect our history. However, I'll never know, foresee, or define our futures confidently.

I love and appreciate your perspective on guns, we must acknowledge our fears, but we musn't allow them to dictate right from wrong. Cheers to seeing and understanding both sides of the story, and may you and yours remain blessed!

As long as we have 'half the population' pushing to take my Constitutional rights away I will continue to reserve the right to be angry. Thanks for your advice, but I don't care about politics...I care about my freedom and the preservation there of and I will continue to try to ward of attempts by those that try to limit liberty be they Right, Left or in-between.

Conflict is part and parcel of what we are.

We will always have conflict as long as we adhere to free thinking and free thought because not everyone thinks the same.

It can't be bright and sunny everyday. If we can't appreciate the bad times, the the good times have no meaning.

Nicely said. Let's not forget "violence and controls, mental health evaluations etc". And all forms of psychology, sexuality, tolerance and thought processes need greater understanding so we all can get along.

It's not guns, it's also knives, cars, alcohol, baseball bats, improv. bombs, machetes, axes.. you name it. Lack of compassion... etc.

Weapons arent inherently in need of control... Violence in mankind is. ATS is a great forum for change.

And i am in full favor of maintaining and defending each and everyone of our constitutional rights till the last gasping breath of this temporary existence that I have! However, we can't let these situations make us forget who we are, why we're here, and what we believe to be right from wrong.

Not sure if you read my post and thought I had a different perspective, but I love my people, animals, plants, and guns all the same

I'm not an advocate for all this love fest group hugs and all that.....however

it is possible to replace hate with indifference.

Couldn't agree more! The problem is we the people, not the item, weapon or object in which we yield. If the problem is the fruit, you have to fix the roots! We on ATS, for the most part are a rare breed of people. We seek truth, answers, and clarity on a wide horizon of topics, and I don't want the members here to forget that! Politics are really poisoning the atmosphere here, and I want it to be cured!

To spread love does not always mean to be partisan. I can love you for who you are and still completely disagree with your position, no matter what it may be or be on. Hell, I'll even go the extra length to disprove you, or educate you of the facts based off of love. Don't be hesitant to love your enemies as you would your family, it is the most basic way to unite one another...
