H.P. Installed Touchpoint Analytics Telemetry on all HP Devices in Nov 2017. How To Remove.

Yesterday, my wife's HP Laptop's fan was running at high-speed and the machine was almost un-usable. I checked the Task Manager monitor and saw that the machine was using 95%-99% of its CPU. The culprit was a program/process called "Touchpoint Analytics Telemetry".

Apparently, this program was AUTOMATICALLY installed on all Hewlett Packard P.C.s and Laptops, in November 2017. Once a day, it sends "information" to H.P., for some reason. Periodically, it intensely scours the computer (and maybe your local network) for God knows what. This is what the HP T.A.T. program was doing to my wife's Laptop last night.

I have an H.P. desktop computer. I looked into services, and programs, for this unwanted spy ware, and sure enough it was on mine too, with an installation date of November 17, 2017.

Naturally, I searched for information on how to remove this program. It turns out that a lot of people are angry at Hewlett Packard for placing unwanted spyware on their device(s), without requesting permission. H.P. is not responding with any meaningful statement of explanation.

If you have an H.P. device and want to remove this intrusive program/service, here is a straight-forward article on how to do it.

Also, be sure to run a good Registry Cleaner after uninstalling. I found 9 registry entries that were left behind. I think these entries could signal HP to reinstall this spyware again. Get rid of them. Good luck!

Delete your os and then reinstall it fresh while not connected to the internet.

Then before you connect to the internet make sure you have windows update turned off.

That's how I keep my pc super clean. There isn't a program on here that I didn't put here.

If you have windows 10 well your screwed because you can't turn off windows update on windows 10 and you will most likely have that program re downloaded onto your laptop even if you find a way to delete it.

My home computer (the one I'm writing this on) is an HP, but I removed all HP software a long time ago, when it still had the original Windows Vista.

We have two HP laptops at work, so I have to look at them.

The H.P. Telemetry Spyware Client is the only unwanted program I've found on our HP P.C.'s, for as far back as I can recall. Our surfing habits are very simple/straightforward. Both were upgraded to Windows 10 in Sept 2016.

Like many of our politicians and the MSM, HP thinks the American Public is STUPID. Their spyware has infiltrated desktops, as well as laptops.

I bet that Republican Presidential Candidate/HP Executive, Carly Fiornia (or something like that) was in charge of this spyware project.

It anonymously collects diagnostic information about hardware performance.

Every GOOD hardware device company does this. Why ? It helps to determine what problems you are having . It doesnt CARE who you are. It is collecting diagnostic firmware on THEIR devices , To better serve their customers

Google started a mess of paranoia with the speculative side band addressing mess (that most hackers did not know it was there and do not care that it is)
Chaos , panic and disorder in the public

Here is the first time in my knowledge , we disagree.
When you start encountering green screens and reboots which had you rather do ?
1) Call or go to the companies forums ?
2) Send anonymous data to the h/w company itself for them to go over
Which do you think will get looked at first ?
What logs would you normally have to send to support in case of issues ?

Putting it that way.. I've always had 2-3 P. U. P. 's I quarantine then remove after security scans..

BTW - Fiorina was terminated as HP CEO in 2005. So that part made no sense whatsoever.

Most GOOD companies have a diagnostic telemetry program installed . Anonymously reports back to the companies' engineers. Proactive instead of retroactive diags. GOOD stuff.

It's an HP program, not a Microsoft program, I don't think it's included in Windows Update.

Had an HP printer.
Always circumvented all those "helping tools"/bloatware by manually installing the driver with the inf. On any linux I tried with post-script, it was unusable.

At some point around 2013 they started forcing the tools on you. Instead of extracting the inf from the setup like I always could, it wasn´t there.

Dowload around 225MB stuff. So that another downloader can now download the .inf for you. After I finally was able to print (after fresh OS), it won´t let me print because the ink was "empty" but it wasnt, it was half full. Problems because no bloatware?

After a lengthy journey how to reset the ink cartrige it went on printing. Directly ate the paper. After I operated it out from there, the printer went into "contact support" and would not reset.

I instead, contacted the splitting axe in the garage and held it on camera to NEVER buy from them again.

from now on, if you buy a laptop, BEFORE you start adding stuff to it, reinstall windows 10 directly from microsoft.

microsoft has added bloatware these days, but its no where near the bloatware bestbuy, hp, etc installs.

so when you get a machine, instantly reinstall windows, because its a 10 minute process, that erases the harddrive, then you start up.

since you are starting from scratch EITHER WAY, might as well wipe the harddrive clean.

but then, you still need to delete one drive, cloud crap, reports, etc. there is still a TON of stuff to delete.

also, you can download a program that haults all 'updates.' or you can disable yourself, once windows is reinstalled.

i always turn off updates, if the computer works, it works.

then i install adblokkkers to all web programs, a nice few of them, and i turn off windows defender as well.

LASTLY my new computer has wifi, which is not bad actually. then i simply disconnect from the internet, and i DO NOT click, 'connect automatically'

if you do not connect automatically, your computer is just a machine in your house.
