Sandy Hook parents sue radio host Alex Jones for defamation

Jones is being sued for his repeated claims that the Sandy Hook shooting was a fake ,giant hoax and that the parents of children killed were actors , his claims could cost him $1 million should he (if there's a God) lose the action.

"This conspiracy theory, which has been pushed by InfoWars and Mr Jones since the day of the shooting, alleges that the Sandy Hook massacre did not happen, or that it was staged by the government and concealed using actors, and that the parents of the victims are participants in a horrifying cover-up," the lawsuit says.

A separate lawsuit filed in Travis County by Neil Heslin, father of slain student Jesse Lewis, alleges that Mr Jones accused him of lying about holding his son's body with a bullet hole in his head, according to the complaint. "This heartless and vile act of defamation re-ignited the Sandy Hook 'false flag' conspiracy and tore open the emotional wounds that plaintiff has tried so desperately to heal," the complaint said.

The parents are seeking at least $1m (£700,000) in damages.

They are suing Mr Jones more than five years after the shooting because they concluded the right-wing radio host has no intention of leaving them alone, according to Mark Bankston, a Houston-based lawyer for the parents.

Parents of Sandy Hook victims who have spoken publicly about their experiences have been targeted by trolls, both online, as well as in person.

Can you imagine the pain of losing your child in a needless tradgedy and then having to suffer a muppet like Jones spout of to anyone stupid enough to listen that it never happened and you aren't who you say you are ... 2nd amendment ?

Totally agree with the OP. I listened to a radio programme a couple of years back (in the UK) and could not believe the level of awful disrespect people like Jones and his ilk dished out to the families of the victims.

Some people seem to think Alex Jones is a force for good, but actually he's a pillock. The clip below was Jones in full stupid-mode on British TV. Very embarrassing.

Most if not all the claims he's made are false and can be shown to be false , his allegations against the parents and their children are based on lies so I wouldn't count their chances out.

I think anyone with kids can understand the mental anguish they have suffered.
