There is NO way Karens first boyfriend from the Wonder Years, running a Wordpress blog featuring articles on Black Magic and Demonology, has an INKLING of a chance.

I strongly question the real world perception of people that believe cooky guys like this could even be considered for office.

His views on his beliefs on what he believes in might be his downfall. But being his being a non Christian but still believing in freedom and liberty?

In all seriousness, though, he sounds too intelligent to get elected. People hate that. There was a guy in FTW named Richard Hunter who ran for local government back in the 90s. He played bass for Killbilly, I think it was. Jello Biafra came to one of his fubdraisers or something. I was bummed he didn't win.

I doubt few would be particularly interested in what he believes, though he does consider the Old Testament was written by a Pagan Nationalistic Tribal Cult and that the Talmud accuses Jesus of having been a Black Magician, but really from the Constitutional perspective he'd easily ridicule such prejudicial arguments.

Vermont would be better off with him than they were with Howard Dean

We've seen Jessie Ventura get elected but he had huge name recognition. We've seen Trump but again, huge name recognition and money and resources.

It has. I hope he understands that politics is not about going to church and staying away from doing bad things. Sad, but people like him get immediately pushed aside without the help of the " listen here young man, you are wanted in this back room now". If he follows that route, I believe that he means well, but politics is all about screwing people of what they want and that my friend is the truth.

Sorry to say, but you are living in the past. People today want to hear the "truth" about what is going on, not so much what they can do for us , because history has proven they can't or worse yet "won't " help .

If I were Tarl I would destroy anything in my possession that could potentially be used to store kiddy porn and perhaps accept enough donations to purchase an Iron Man suit.

I think that whether he stands a chance right now or not, what he's doing will give other ordinary people an incentive/ideas and seriously consider doing the same, and pretty soon there'll be a good selection of proper decent ordinary people for the rest of us to vote for.

We're going to see an end to corrupt career-politicians that have nothing whatsoever in common with us and don't give a frig either. We're going to vote for chaps like this and put self-serving career-politicians out of politics for good and they're going to have to live by our rules in future, instead of the other way round.

The Vermont political situation is they have a popular Governor with high approval ratings , of course that can change in the next two years but even so I don't see the good people of Vermont lurching to an unknown should the current Governor's ratings slip.

He doesn't want CONTRIBUTIONS and he is running unaffiliated.

I don't see how that will improve his chances.

In other words he is breaking the mold of money in politics.

I'm sure you like us must have independent candidates running for office in nearly every election so I don't see how he is breaking the mold , being a youtuber with opinions is not going to improve his chances because if he did gain popularity with the electorate his opponents will trawl his channel for ammunition to use against him.

Never heard of him... and it appears he doesn't really know what a governor does (other than approve or veto bills that Styxhexenhammer666 feels strongly about.)

Might have traction with his fans, but I will be surprised if it goes anywhere. Certainly don't see him making it to the presidency... for that, you need a lot of fellow politicians supporting you and your efforts.

I wonder if he'll join the Republicans eventually.
