Not long now to the deadline, but I am just as interested in why Trump will not just order the declassification of the document. If he did there is nothing either Rosenstein or Wray could do.

Whenever documents are requested that are already involved in an ongoing criminal investigation, the doj and FBI are quick to point that out. For this two-page document that the house intelligence committee is requesting, the doj has stayed dead silent.

This is crazy! Jeff Sessions hired a U.S. Attorney to force the DOJ/FBI to release documents faster. Today, John Lausch says he can't help get the document that the House Intel Committee wants by midnight tonight.

U.S. Attorney John Lausch appears on Fox and Friends morning show to discuss the ongoing issue of releasing documents to congress yet retain integrity of potential criminal evidence that may be used in future proceedings.

Lausch notes the FBI two-page document that initiated the 2016 FBI counterintelligence operation against candidate Donald Trump is not under his authority to release.

No...There are no other aspects of the investigation for one...And two, the investigating committees have every right to view those documents...They are in charge of oversight of the FBI and DOJ...The FBI and DOJ are not an authority unto themselves...
