We arent related to cro magnom homo sapiens were still in Africa at that time. Later there was probably some interbreeding but they die out. Cro magnom was the second wave of hominids to leave africa. It is the third wave that mist humans today descended from.

New sub species have been created since that article it is now believed to do genetic testing only small percentage of cro magnom actually became us through inbreeding. By the way as they had to expand homo sapiens are new designation is Homo-sapien-sapiens. They really didn't think about this very well.

Data shows about 10 percent of our DNA comes from cro magnom. Homo sapiens is a group that has been expanded think of branches of a tree. Are branch is now Homosapiens sapiens. Heres this explains how modern humans were still in africa at the time of cro magnom.

We know that very similar DNA and appearance do NOT indicate one is an ancestor species, or most likely is. Nor does it even suggest an ancestor species. The fact humans and primates have nearly identical DNA, and similar physical structure, are ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SPECIES, who exist at the same time, show evolution is a farce.

Two species that share in DNA, and appearance, exist today, as two different species. And not just humans and primates. Many species share in DNA and appearance, today, as different species.

No matter how close in DNA and appearance, they are NOT identical in DNA and appearance. Which makes them two entirely distinct, separate species.

no looking like us doesn't mean we are genetically the same. read further you see our ancestors were still in Africa at the time cro magnom was in Europe. oh and the term cro magnum is no longer used. The new term is early modern humans and modern humans. and we discovered there was a bunch of early modern humans though they all were not necessarily directly related to us. modern humans had a bottle neck and can actually be traced to one individual the modern eve if you will.

Opens up new possibilities for our "super advanced ancient civilization", though, right?

A group that is more directly descended from Cro-Magnon builds a super society of which our genetic ancestors aren't really part of. Doesn't really trade with our ancestors. Lives mostly on the coast.

They're the ones with extra cubic centimeters in their brain case. Not us.



Our ancestors gradually reach a point of societal development where they are able to carry out so called "capital punishment", and for the next 20k years our species becomes more domesticated, and more able to work cooperatively toward common goals.

Then comes the "modern world". A world built on a different principal of intelligence than the ancient one. In this world people's minds are more specialized. Each contributing their own part to a larger network of intellectual accomplishment.

(I would say "the end", but the story is not over yet. Here we are.)
