No, it’s based on regional culture that transcends religion. There are non-Muslims in the same region that practice these same horrific acts. There are Muslim-dominated countries in different parts of the world that don’t have this same culture.

If you are going to lump in Christianity, at least acknowledge it is a general problem with ALL religions. Islamic extremism is taking the spot light right now. Give it another 50 years, it will be something else.

The quran is certainly a reprehensible book. Just like the Torah, the many christian books, the talmud, the haddith, The Secret, any astrology book, and pretty much any book written by L. Ron Hubbard.

They are all on equal footing.

I'm against all of it; all religions. Albeit I reserve more disdain and disgust for Islam for the ridiculous claims it makes for itself over and above every other made up fairy tale.

Any religion that advocates abuse of children, the subjugation of women and death to those who leave the faith is a pile of horesh*t. Nothing more.

I can find just as many sad and horrific stories in the states where non Muslims commit heinous crimes as Muslims... Maybe more.

Certainly in war torn countries with poor infrastructures create a void to allow lawlessness.

And again, the Muslims are in no shortage of disturbing stories.... But neither is the west.

For the 3rd time in this thread, no one is saying this behavior is exclusive to Muslims. You still can't deny Islamic culture had something to do with this. You can call it "regional" all you want, it's still Islamic culture. Some Muslims have moved past this kind of #. Obviously this one hasn't. The fact that there are other Muslims who don't behave this way doesn't change that.

There are also Islamists/muslims, who have a different culture than others. They all have ideas that are as diverse as any other group. Not all muslims believe that the books are the words of gods and prophets. There are plenty of “muslims” who live as though they are Atheists. Just like there are plenty of christians who live as though they are atheists. Most people use the terms “Christian” and “Muslim” as synonyms for “good people” when in reality, they don’t read the books or subscribe to any of the magical events or demands set in them. They cherry pick the good stuff, because that is all they are interested in. Being seen as a good person.

As long as people believe different things about different deities, there will be war, murder, cultural strife.

We either can wipe out all different beliefs and just believe one thing, like a totalitarian one-world government, or we can punish those that go against our own cultural beliefs.

They are by no means peaceful nor care to even educate themselves, especially the females, and are totally intent on keeping themselves separate from other societies and religions.

They are users-living and multiplying thanks to deluded, leftist, open thinking societies and countries. Just keep up this leftist rhetoric and the US will become the disaster of England, France, etc.

We Americans are so insulated from their atrocities that we have not been kept informed on their extremely dangerous religious beliefs.

Before making excuses for them, you really need to educate yourself on their core beliefs. You will be shocked.

Unfortunately those "Honor Killings" are deeply rooted in their culture and it´s almost impossible to be completely eradicated. The mere perception that a woman has behaved in a way that "dishonors" her family is sufficient to trigger an attack on her life. Thank God she escaped.
