No, not the CDC's take on it.

Here is the only mention of the CDC in that article.

A study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) concluded that MD was not caused by a pathogen.

Here is what the CDC actually says:

This comprehensive study of an unexplained apparent dermopathy demonstrated no infectious cause and no evidence of an environmental link. There was no indication that it would be helpful to perform additional testing for infectious diseases as a potential cause. Future efforts should focus on helping patients reduce their symptoms through careful attention to treatment of co-existing medical, including psychiatric conditions, that might be contributing to their symptoms.

I believe the itching was real. I had a problem with really itchy feet. For another problem I had blood tests done and they kept coming up with an unknown protein in my bloodstream. I was treated with Erthromycin and the problems went away. White threads could be caused by white blood cells soldifying or excess calcium.

i know a girl who swears her brother has morgellons disease. I asked her everything i could because i thought it was fake.
She swears he has it and has gone to the doctor for it. She said she has seen the fibers growing out of his skin. Dont know if it has anything to do with it but supposedly they guy is a heroin addict.

I still don't know if i believe it.
