The law says to buy/watch pornography you have to be 18+.

The law also says you can consent to having sex at 16.

Too young to watch it, but old enough to actually do it.

As sad as it sounds I was just over 30 when I stopped making childish/selfish
Decisions. I am ashamed of the d bag things I did in my teens and twenties
Maybe when I’m in my 40s my behavior now will seem childish

Honestly, you are never too old to make bad decisions.

You must not be paying attention to the suicide rate in the trans community both before and even after they transition.

and there it is.

people don't kill themselves because they're trans.

they kill themselves because of the way they're treated for being trans.

Wow, so you know what went through every single mind?

You can change the body to match the mind, but the mind will still know the truth. Some people find that unacceptable, sadly. No one here denies that the way they are treated plays a part in some instances. But you act as if that's the only factor that explains the whole stat.

Unless you're older than 72, that's sort of a self burn as well. Good job.

prove it isn't. bring something to the table to support that assertion besides your own opinions about what the 'truth' is.

In the end, it still comes back to their gender expression.

Bear with me on this:

Bullies will generally pick on the kids they feel they can get away with picking on. Like it or not, when you are unhappy with yourself for any reason, it makes you lack self-confidence. When you have zero self-confidence, low self-esteem others pick up on that and it makes you a target, no matter what you are -- be it normal or not.

Demanding that society give them the feeling of social acceptance they don't have inside isn't going to fix that. Until they accept themselves, anything they get from society as a whole will always feel hollow -- like so many facebook likes.

i think you're putting the cart before the horse, there. it's difficult to accept yourself when everything around you tells you that what you are is wrong.

yes, bullies will always prey on people who stand out from the crowd. yes, some of us who have been bullied will develop depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.

that doesn't mean we're wrong to be the way we were bullied for. struggling to survive in an unfriendly environment, blaming people for being who they are, and trying to equate that with gun deaths in some back-asswards way doesn't make a lick of sense.

ETA: i'm really not sure what you're suggesting, tbh. do you think society is justified in withholding acceptance because it doesn't matter as much as self-love? do you really think it doesn't make a difference? look at how much society has changed regarding being gay, and how much the suicide rate has dropped for gay teens. it does make a difference.
