I did, but apparently I am unwise and unreasonable.

Admitting you have those problems is only the first step.

Yeah but then I take two steps back and I'm worse off then when I started.

Ever think somebody just wanted to make a short interest piece. They just wanted to keep it simple and short?

You mean, like, the White House?

Because that's who made this "piece."

And I think it was very CAREFULLY edited to convince people they were viewing ONE passport...not two, not three....

ONE.

But it's plainly not one passport.

And you didn't know that until today. You're welcome.

That is contradictory. If it had been CAREFULLY shot and edited then they would not have stated that he got a new passport at around 1:00, shown a folder that had "passports" written on it and they would have used only one passport.

And you didn't know that until today. You're welcome.

Um, thanks for nothing?

If anything the blurring out of the date issued and the expiration date would make a better argument but that same page, without the cropped head-shot, says annotations/see page 51 and that is the page shown where it says that the passport belongs to the POTUS. Seems like the other one may have been used because it actually had a bunch of stamps, which is what the question was asking. Cover up or just a better shot? I'm sticking with "video editing license".

A little PR management to keep the birthers, big at the time, from having more "ammo"? Sure, very likely, but it is still very "meh".

I have a current passport and several expired ones.

Mystery solved.

People still pushing the birther BS?.
What's that saying? What a huge nothingburger.

I effectively have 3, my normal civilian passport usable anywhere for 10 years, my military passport only usable when traveling under orders goof for 5 I believe and my one that is like a drivers license card usable only in Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean but no where else also good for 10.

Maybe one of them is his Kenyan passport? a reply to: MotherMayEye

On a serious note, and I don't care for the Kenyan Messiah but: he probably had a passport prior to becoming president, maybe that is the other passport. Just speculating here. Great catch though.

I give up.

I'm not wondering why he has two passports, I'm not concerned that it's illegal to have two passports, and I don't care who on ATS has more than one passport and why.

I am wondering why there are portions of two passports shown in the video, yet it's been edited to make it appear as if they are showing us only one passport.

My OP was clear, so apparently people just want to drive by with their thoughts on the thread title and discuss what they *think* the OP might say.

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is. So the video did not specifically state there were more than one passport.

Ok.

So what?

Well, apparently Politico wasn't aware when they went about their usual business of deriding 'birthers' by pointing to Obama's "new" & "official" passport (singular) and claimed it showed he was born in Hawaii (which it may or may not...but, the video they used to support their claim only showed what the old passport said):

Don't look, birthers: Obama's passport

Here's something new for the birthers to chew over: President Barack Obama's passport. Says he was born in Hawaii! But the White House has strategically fuzzed out certain data, so the mystery continues.

Now, it's his official passport, which means it's new, so the true believers will not be persuaded. Not that they ever would.

Link

AND, of course, the Politico story was picked up by the delightful factcheckers who are nothing more than propagandists.

So what? It was an intentionally deceptive video that convinced Politico, Factcheck -- and everyone else -- that they were viewing personal information from Obama's presidential passport, when that was just an editing trick.

So what? When I hear people whine and moan about Trump being a liar...I think, "You reap what you sow."

ETA: Hey, do you think Politico would correct their article if I alerted them to their mistake?

LOL. As if.

Ahhh. I should have known this would all go back to the birther craziness.

Ok. Does that change the fact that Trump lies?

ETA: Hey, do you think Politico would correct their article if I alerted them to their mistake?

They would probably laugh at you, considering that what you have presented here lacks quite a bit of context and makes assumptions based on ignorance.

Lacks what context? The video is in the OP, you can watch it yourself for the full context.

And ignorance of what? You already agreed there is more than one passport in the video.

It was Politico that presented information out of context and based on their ignorance. Not me.

Eh, if Trump lies...who cares? Not me. I expect lies from the White House.

***

ETA: Actually I WANT Trump to lie and be deceptive to every single person that was/is ok with Obama lying and deceiving people.

The biggest piece of context you are missing is intent. You make specific claims of intent without evidence. Including that the report/video was edited to not imply the president had more than one passport.

So they failed to say that the president may have two passports. Ok. So what?

Oh ya...bither stuff.

And ignorance of what? You already agreed there is more than one passport in the video.

No, I did not. Do not misrepresent what I said. I said the video did not specifically state there was more than one passport. That assumes there is more than one passport for the sake of asking why it matters.

It was Politico that presented information out of context and based on their ignorance. Not me.

What did they misrepresent or take out of context? I think you are trying to make the case that they purposefully are trying to deceive through omission, which requires a bit more evidence on your part than what you have presented.

Calm down...I read your OP, I just don't see the possible conspiracy that you do to mislead the viewer.

You struck a nerve MME.

Always enjoy your threads, thank you.
Great as usual.

Clearly, there was a deception in showing
both passports to appear as if they were
examining only one.

It felt inclusive of anyone who had not known/seen the video before so I felt like dropping my 2 cents in.

What about the rest of the post?
