Shadow Of The Colosuss remastered.

I've recently returned to gaming after many years away, so going from PS1 to PS4 is quite a leap.

First game was Horizon Zero Dawn, and this week I've played through the remastered version of Shadow of the Colosuss. I never had a chance to play it on PS2, so this game is new to me, but wow what a beautiful game!

It's very basic compared to games like HZD, but the simplicity of it, the scale of the colossai....not to mention the absolutely stunning soundtrack, makes it a fast growing keeper for me.

Anyone here played the original?

My cousin had the original on PS2. I didn't mind.it but I found it boring. Im not really that into.playing games just to see pretty things. It was definitely pretty and I enjoyed the sense of bleak loneliness in the game. That part reminded me of my favourite game of all time...Super Metroid.

But overall would probably not play again. The collosi were pretty cool looking though and I like the idea of gigantic towering bosses. They just played.too much like interactive cutscenes for.my taste.

I love it so much I might just have to save up and get a ps4.

I loved the art, atmosphere and constructs.. .amazing! But actual gameplay was a little ...repetitious. I certainly loved playing it, tho. Be neat to re-work the gameplay into a more open sandbox style with much more content... imo.

Games like this and Monster Hunter never really interested me. I am sure they're great for what they are and if it's your "thing," but I am more into narrative driven games frankly, not repetitive grinders.

It's a huge part of the reason I could never really get into the "Souls" genre as well. I had a level 45 character on the original Dark Souls and I just got bored with it frankly. No identifiable plot or story, repetitive grind of the same enemies over and over; I think I was like a level 20 before I was even able to get out of the first area of the game... There just wasn't a lot of motivation for me to even try to complete the game.

I basically put SOTC and MH in the same class of games. Plotless, repetitive grinders... Meh, they, just never have interested me. To each their own.

Frustrating short and empty = the original.

Could have been awesome. It's actually a puzzle game. Find where to crawl up. Thats it. I had to cheat, no rules or anything. Just a guessing game of what to grab and stab.
