Crabs YES!
Cheese on em..No!

I crab every few weekends down here in Florida!

This is an average three hr haul




Then it's either surf and Turf..



Or Crab Boil..

In MIami Florida back in the 70's, my wife, girlfriend and I had gotten 'em together...Doctor saw me last and...was not amused....me either. (TRUE STORY!)

Back to topic...crab cakes sound pretty good about now! Been awhile...

Not exactly soft shell crabs but today myself and my father went out chasing these .

Blue swimmer crabs , quite common all around Australia although quantity and quality are best in the gulfs of South Australia .

Nearly at our limit , we got sixty in just under 2 hours which is about par or a little under .

Ah the worst bit , cooking and cleaning but it has to be done . That pic has 13 crabs in it .

Side note . Upon getting home i went to hook up the hose to flush the engine , yep you guessed it , 4 foot brown snake curled up next to it . Little bugger shot off into the bush next to the tap . NOPE .

New Orlean Poboys

This is the menu from NOLA on Bourbon Street that reminds us that Poboys can be made of anything from alligators to Who Dat fried oysters. American, cheddar, swiss, pepper jack, provolone cheese cost extra as do the onions and jalapenos.

Now as to if the soft shells are fresh, that is a mystery to me. With all the atomic spices that go with it I don't think I would care.

Ah pretty much what those up North call a loose meat sandwich; basically any meat left over from a dinner was up for grabs out of the fridge to slap between two slices of bread...

Po' boy was sent to bed early without supper last night; but he's a rich man with some bread this morning.
