How does a group of players kneeling for the national anthem interrupt the game? They didn't stop the anthem and wait for them to stand up. Did they stay kneeling after the anthem was over when they should have been lining up for scrimmage?

Honestly debating over things like this "me too" movement is pointless. If you assume all the accusations are false you're an idiot, and if you assume they're all true you're an idiot. The concept that many powerful people are getting away with abusing people in less powerful position is a given, just as the concept that some people will take advantage of the rich and powerful if they can get away with it. It's pointless to put in your "two cents" on whether allegations are true or not.

You always get those guys that chime in "Well I know of a friend that got falsely accused and it ruined his life etc etc." The fact is that most of us also know a woman that was raped or molested.

I treat people who claim that women are going around constantly accusing guys of rape just to ruin their lives with the same sort of disdain I treat the lady I met who claimed I was a rapist if I hadn't specifically asked every woman I've slept with if I could penetrate her vagina with my penis every time I've engaged in sex. The truth lies between the two extremes, and any rational person should know that.

I just had this exact conversation with my wife last night. This MeeToo "movement" has morphed from a valid way for women to share their experiences and promote a broader awareness to one of attempts to punish men existing today for the transgressions of the men that lived before they were even born! It is totally a revenge for past indiscretions on the level of slave reparations, and being advocated as such.

Frankly, that radical feminist approach will result in the reversal of all the progress made by the women's movement since the 1920's. And by saying this, I will likely be branded as advocating and supporting the subjugation of women because I am not passively agreeing with this radical interpretation.

But what you're seeing is a "new normal" as an elevated version of PC commentary. Man=Bad, Female=Good=Victim. I have no idea where this will end, but two things seem quite certain. First, the rest of the world must be laughing their heads off at the US and second, this will ultimately have negative consequences for the economy.

It's funny, you want the guy to defend himself but when he opts NOT to defend himself you somehow think the system is broken.

I'm just going to speculate here since none of us are privy to any testimony from the suit but I'm guessing his lawyer advised him to settle as there was likely to be witnesses present who corroborated what the accuser was alleging.

Gonna guess you have not had any legal issues? Lawyers love to settle a case or accept a plea bargain rather than go to trial. This is for obvious reasons as a plea or a settlement shows as a win for the attorney and they still get paid. Trials are long and drawn out where the attorney must work and is tied up with one case for days if not weeks. So instead of working on 6 cases @ 250-800 per hour they only get to work one.

How do I know? I have lawyer buddies and have asked them this personally.

The abuses of the me too movement are mostly gold diggers mad they didn't get enough gold for going down on famous people. If a girl asks me to meet her in her hotel room after drinks I have a pretty good idea of what will transpire, If a girl decides to drop trow and finger fandango her slippery slopes it's my choice whether I watch or leave, if a girl offers me a chance at fame if I give her the old trouser snake I choose weather to accept that proposal.

That would be true for her attorney who would rather get a guaranteed payout. As for his, why would he settle quickly? He gets much less billable hours and makes far less than if it went to trial.

Right. Because six cases times 250-800 an hour nets so much less money than one case at 250-800 hours.

If you were an attorney instead of your anecdotal friends you would be a broke ass attorney.

They settled because they most likely reviewed the evidence and found paying her off was better than it becoming public. Who in their right mind, when they're innocent, doesn't say 'I'll let the evidence speak for itself'. Particularly since many of these allegations appeared to happen in public settings where if he wasn't a grabastic slob he could have had someone(s) testify on his behalf.

Nope. He just handed her the green instead.

Jesus fella. Man up.
