Here is the problem, and it is not getting out of the embassy. That is easy, and one could do that. How does he get out of the country. That is far more of a problem.

So he can't go to the airport, that is where he could be picked up, trying to leave on an international flight. Nor can he simply just board a cruise ship, there again, he would be caught and possibly picked up.

So how does the man, get out of the country, without being detained or picked up?

Helicopter from roof to splashdown drop off in international waters, then onto a high speed boat.

I would transport the helicopter on a flatbed truck to a nearby location. Start her up less than half a mile away and swoop in with a rope ladder off the roof.

Once on the boat, go to high traffic waterways and hitch a ride on a container ship that picked him up with a hook on a rope to a buoy.

Thats if money is no concern.

for a few hundred grand,

Airtight box with oxygen tanks built into a delivery truck frame.

Have the truck delivered in pieces to the embassy. Then have it assembled and modified in their garage. Then wait for weekly delivery, detain real employees. Maybe they get stuck in an elevator. Happens all the time.

Drive fake truck away. Let employees leave after Julian is free.

Go by boat to Africa (Morocco). Then fly to south America.

I've never understood why he does not ride to the airport in an Ecuadorean Embassy vehicle and jump on a Ecuadorean plane to Ecuador. They could do that pretty much anytime they wished to do it and not be stopped.

I'd say use the obvious route I mentioned above. Diplomatic immunity would make it easy if the Ecuadorean's are really into protecting him. There must be some reason he has not done that yet.

Sounds fun. The only problem I have is getting him this costume and the plan without anybody else knowing about it.

NO NO NO

diplomatic immunity is GRANTED , not CLAIMED

any one who the ecuadoreans want to have diplomatic imunity must be presented to the court of st james - and thier credentials accepted

further - a car cannot be covered under the blanket of " diplomatic pouches " - anything that COULD contain mr assange - can be stoped - and the ecuadorians - have to demonstrate that it does not contain mr assange

lastly - if the UK authorities - suspect that mr assange is being shipped out by plane - they CAN force it down - heck - they will not even let him on the plane

the americans forced down a plane over the med in the 80s - 90s - despite it claiming dipolomatic protection - and dragged off a terrorism susdpect at gunpoint - [ who did not have any diplomatic papers ] - all other occupants and all luggae that was shown not to contain hiding terrorist suspects was released unmolested

apart from a few bleats from the usual suspects - no one made any seriouis complaint - and life went on

Assange is not a diplomat so cannot claim diplomatic immunity, and besides diplomatic immunity would not prevent arrest. Plus Ecuador would be reluctant to abuse diplomatic protocols for the sake of Assange.

List of helicopter prison escapes

MOST of those succeeded.

There are 45 on that list since 1971 to the present. 13 failed. Thats over 71% succeeding.

Those are prison escapes. Highly secure installations meant to keep people in. Not compliant embassies in city streets.

A helicopter can pick him up. Restricted airspace wont have F22s or X wings bearing down your throat for a single helicopter veering slightly off course.

On an average day most city skies are full of helicopters.

The record for most helicopter escapes goes to convicted murderer Pascal Payet, who has used helicopters to escape from prisons in 2001, 2003, and most recently 2007.

Another multiple helicopter escapee is Vasilis Paleokostas who on February 22, 2009 escaped for the second time from the same prison. Because of this, many prisons have taken applicable precautions, such as nets or cables strung over open prison courtyards

There are no such security precautions over the Ecuadorian embassy.

The only problem I see with a helicopter is...

you are in a helicopter high above the ground. There's no backup or ''incase of emergency'' option and the Police/MI5 could just scramble a helicopter to follow you until you hit the ground

escaping by car means you can blend in, you can run from the car, you can hide in the car

Do it during a storm when there is less police air patrol. Try to find out when the police air patrols change of shift takes place. Use homemade RF scramblers in the immediate vicinity of the embassy when you pick him up.

Drop him off onto another rooftop (parking garage), and have helicopter lead now approaching police air patrols on wild goose chase.

Or have a helicopter try to take a double off the roof, have him slip into an embassy cars trunk and be driven out. Use a modified car with a hidden trunk compartment.

There's probably quite a few legit if not completely outlandish ways for Assange to leave the UK without being detained by authorities.

It could be he's a complete coward.

Or, which is more likely, he's in it for the long haul for narcissistic reasons.

I don't see what's so great about him (personally - not Wikileaks). I mean, he ain't as cute as Snowdon.

In this day and age of cameras every where, it would be hard to trace each and identify each person. Sooner rather than later the have discared the cover suits so they can then identify the person who was wearing it.

However, even eventually they do identify Julian; if he got a 10 minute start he would have a good chance of getting away.
