General Setup: Defender's King is pushed out of the pawn's way and cannot access the Queening square.
Attacker's king is in front of his pawn, on the queening square. The basic winning technique here is to "Build a Bridge" - interpose the attacking Rook between the checking Rook and attacker's King.
Once that is achieved, the position is lost as the exchange of Rooks results in a won K+P vs. K endgame.

Going down the rabbit hole re Lunev and the bridge brought me to a document called Clandestine Communication Systems
. Given the preceding breadcrumbs this could be relevant.
Kazik established the communication bridge that linked Antek to the ZOB members and other resistance elements. A bridge “shares information ... and facilitates coordination” between networks. Underground leadership is typically isolated from the environment to limit exposure to hostile forces and delegates the supervision of operations to intermediaries, lieutenants and deputies. Structurally, a bridge is a “an organizational member who connects a [network] to which they belong with members of another [network]” and therefore included within the organizational boundaries that are created by the communication process. The bridge converses with other members, is involved in deliberations, and develops a high degree of organizational knowledge. The information acquired by the bridge increases his capacity to coordinate activities and influence subordinates.
This is an interesting idea.
How would this fit in with "Payback"?

Looks like Q is accusing Lunev of being an active Russian operative.
State approved double agent?
During the Cold War, as this portion of the Havel River formed the border between West Berlin and East Germany, the bridge was used several times for the exchange of captured spies and thus became known as the Bridge of Spies.

"Payback For Today" sounds like punishment for some event that happened Today (2/24/18), somewhere in the world.

I'm guessing Q was under attack to prevent him from posting on 8 last night ("today").
"Payback" directed towards those black hats attacking his efforts.

In cryptography, a brute-force attack consists of an attacker trying many passwords or passphrases with the hope of eventually guessing correctly. The attacker systematically checks all possible passwords and passphrases until the correct one is found. Alternatively, the attacker can attempt to guess the key which is typically created from the password using a key derivation function. This is known as an exhaustive key search.
A brute-force attack is a cryptanalytic attack that can, in theory, be used to attempt to decrypt any encrypted data[1] (except for data encrypted in an information-theoretically secure manner). Such an attack might be used when it is not possible to take advantage of other weaknesses in an encryption system (if any exist) that would make the task easier.

Yes.. If you look at the flow of #821 thru #826 it reads as if "something" was thwarted. Hence, the "nice try" in #826.
