I admit I am very intrigued by Metabunk. But Metabunk has a very active truth movement supporter, Tony Szamboti that regular posts.

The below referenced post by Tony Szamboti at Metabunk is what I would like to focus on. The post really highlights how a conspiracist takes an example of a building collapse by fire, creates a false narrative, and then uses that false narrative as proof of CD at the WTC. A real insight in the psychology and pseudoscience of the truth movement.

There were significant sounds recorded on audio at the beginning of the Plasco collapse and they were analyzed and shown to have the pressure pulse form of explosive noise and not that of impact noise. There is a difference which you can see on pdf page 26 in the paper Fundamentals of Acoustics by Colin Hansen here

These pulses also seem to be too close together to have been from falling and impacting floors. The time between the seven pulses, measured over a 511 millisecond period, at the beginning of the collapse, ranges from 40 to 120 milliseconds, varying randomly, with no regular pattern of getting shorter as time went on.

If this thread’s author is not AE’s Tony Szamboti, I apologize for the mistake.

Why the argument concerning Plasco, it proves fire related collapse is possible. Why the ridiculous leap Plasco was a CD, it shows how far the truth movement will go to keep a false narrative alive.

What is odd about the analysis? No one denies explosions happen during fires. The real argument would be evidence of detonations powerful enough to cut steel. The audio of the Plasco collapse holds no audible proof of CD. The replies to Mr. Szamboti’s post debunk his Plasco efforts. Mr Szamboti shows how far a well educated person will go to embrace pseudoscience to push a false narrative.

In other words, Mr. Szamboti’s Plasco post is not about logic, nor about science. It’s about keeping the CD faithful hooked, and wallets open.

Or why would Architects and Engineers argue sounds of explosions not fire related? AE even argues the witnessesed expulsions are explosions from CD. Not the most likely cause of the expulsions, compressed air from falling floors finding ways out of the structure. Why go to such lengths when a thermite and fire collapse would still have compressed air expulsions? Because the followers of AE, the target audience, wants proof of CD. So the false argument the witnessed expulsions could only be CD related was created. This is to distract from the witnessed expulsions are explained by fire related collapse.

Seems contradictory. The linked paper mentions thermite, but wants to make the case the sounds of explosions and witnessed expulsions at Plasco were not fire related. The explosions/expulsions were evidence of CD.

Another motive is to tie thermite to the lie it fizzle no flash explosives could cause ejections at the WTC?

Again, AE ignores there is no indication of shrapnel from demolitions.

AE does not cite any evidence of detonations producing pressure waves/shockwaves capable of cutting structural steel.


Again, AE has no proof the building underwent the required lengthy preparation of CD. The running of thousands of feet of wiring for a CD system. The placing of charges from for floor to floor.

AE again fails to explain how a complex CD system survive widespread fires in the building.

Finall, the Steve Jones thermite claims at the WTC have repeatedly been proven fraudulent.

Like the effort to create innuendo and sensationalized speculation?

Are you talking about a study peer reviewed? Do you know there are two other WTC 7 studies that point to building damage, fire damage, and thermal stress as the only credible explanations for the WTC 7 collapse?

Would you like to point out how Tony Szamboti is credible, or not credible? If his arguments are rightly debunked? There was a whole debate concerning WTC 7 about a month ago? If Mr. Szamboti represents AE as a whole? If he has the support of the truth movement?
