well yeah it took me a few years to figure out that Cross Eyed Mary was a "Working Girl"

My fist album was Def Leppards Pyromania.

Second album was Frank Zappas Joe's Garage

Third was AC/DC Back in Black

My sister had that record but I remember the first one she got was this-

Naw...its still there. It just tends to be bastardized quickly.

Many bands make amazing first albums. They get ruined shortly thereafter. Pearl Jam is a good example of this.

Then you have folks like Maynard. He has 3 bands that all make amazingly good music. Or Corey Taylor...i really dig the new stuff from Stone Sour.

That said, i still listen to mostly older music. I've been hung up on John Prine and the Grateful Dead for the last couple of months.

Nice thread.. when the news came that David Bowie had died this very memory of buying this first record in my life surfaced.

I had to really think on this one.I was 13 in 1968 and I think the
first 45 that I bought was "Hey Jude".
