The panoramic image shows Curiosity's View across Gale crater as it continues its climb up Mount Sharp and what a view it is.

"Even though Curiosity has been steadily climbing for five years, this is the first time we could look back and see the whole mission laid out below us," said Curiosity Project Scientist Ashwin Vasavada of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California. "From our perch on Vera Rubin Ridge, the vast plains of the crater floor stretch out to the spectacular mountain range that forms the northern rim of Gale Crater." The rover photographed the scene shortly before northern Mars' winter solstice, a season of clear skies, gaining a sharp view of distant details.

I was remarking to myself about the colours...then I saw the message at the end.
When I was a kid, the conventional thinking was that we were alone, while I thought different, as in a universal way, but when you see an image like that, the idea of being alone in the Universe, is totally inconceivable, and perhaps a deal closer than you might have thought.

Mount Sharp is like 5.5 kilometers (18000ft) high

I can't imagine the rover will drive all to the top right ?

Why do the pictures always have to be color adjusted and tampered with. Just show it the way it looks.

They know it will annoy people that don't have a grasp of photography or digital imaging go learn about it.
