Cost benefit analysis along a good public relations company is all they need.

Yeah If the projected profits dwarf the wrist slap fine then it makes good business sense to them.

Also you blame greed here.

And while I wholeheartedly agree that that's the base factor...

You have to consider the fact that it's also "fiscal survival" .... If they don't act this way, in the current capitalistic market environment, then shareholder confidence fades and they lose, and risk absolute failure.

Not in any way defending that twisted fact...
...but fact nonetheless...

"It's the SYSTEM, mannnn!"

Big Pharma fought regulation on meth precursors for decades, when it was crystal clear(pun intended) where it was going..they truly are the upper echelon of drug dealers.

Right. Like we couldn't down a single airliner on 911.

What about the one downed one in Pennsylvania, remember? Whether you believe it was the passengers or a fighter jet, it was still downed. So you are wrong with that sentence.

Flight 93 was in the air over an hour, subsonic, big and shiny, but had to be brought down by passengers.

Yes. And they brought it down, which makes it downed.

SLBMs are ten minutes away from the coast, come ashore flying below radar at Mach 3, in droves.

Our ships at sea also have radar, as well as our subs, not to mention our naval stations which are always on the look out. How would they get below radar? There are no valleys on the face of the ocean in which to hide.
