You're wrong about what I think I am doing. My sole intention in speaking up in this thread is to present a perspective
that has not been expressed. I chose to do so because I have personal experience in my life and understanding that many
do not so I feel compelled to present an alternate viewpoint.

Time and again these sorts of news stories are posted along with slippery slope arguments. Allegedly acceptance of gays and transgenders and all manner of marginalized freaks can ultimately only lead to the total destruction of our culture.
The end game goal is to completely normalize bestiality and child rape, as the shtick goes.

I can see why people think that and I do see a leftist political machine that is exploiting marginalized members of our society for their political gain. Said marginalized people are drawn into the leftist political juggernaut because a large percentage of the political right has no place for them whatsoever.

Leftists trying ram these marginalized and misunderstood people down the throats of people who don't understand have only created more fear and ire. In the case for transgender individuals it was bad enough in this culture as it was, but now people think the whole thing is entirely a wingnut leftist invention. Society at large seems no closer to an intelligent sympathetic understanding of the experience of the transgender person. To make matters worse and to confuse the general population on the subject even more are all manner of sexual fetishists including those who get their jollies by deviating from society's gender roles merely for aberrant sexual gratification or for sexual assault. For the majority of society the transgender experience is not relateable or comprehensible so easily conflated with sexual perversion. To boot, the leftist appear to have gone completely insane so anyone included in their talking points is getting lumped in there even when they don't want to be. As much as the media would like to have people believe that all the marginalized people are political leftists, it is not actually true.

The opinion I have formed from my personal experience with loved ones' addiction struggles is that no, they don't initially choose to be addicted. They make destructive and ill decisions that lead them to it. If you choose to put a bottle of booze or a cigarette to your mouth then you are taking a risk that you may become an addict. If you have some kind of genetic predisposition to addiction to a substance you can make a conscious decision to avoid it. You could have a sexual attraction to children and choose to act on it or not. When speaking of a transgender person, transgender fundamentally is not a behavior or a sexual proclivity, it is the condition that a person's self is deemed to possess the traits of a person who has a different genital configuration. Transgendered people try to conform to society's expectations in this current society by undergoing hormone therapies and sex changes. Different societies and cultures throughout history have dealt with the issue in other ways, many of them much more healthy for everyone involved.

Wanting surgical alteration is not a transgendered person's goal nor do I believe it's something they desire in their heart of hearts. Contemporary western society has very rigid gender roles and has been very hostile towards those that don't fit into
them. Be it women wanting to be on the football team and wear pants or men trying do well pretty much anything people have decided is women-only. It goes something like this. A person born male has always liked dolls instead of toy soldiers, didn't like sports, preferred female fashion choices, was sensitive and emotional, etc, you get the drift, but they were endlessly persecuted and told they had to like different things and be something different because all these integral parts of their nature and personality were wrong because that's for people with the opposite gender. Some try to be what society arbitrarily expects of them but a person is who they are. If you like the color pink and you're a boy that's just what you like and really these kind of things are not something anyone should care about, but it's a hard. Maybe he likes women's tea parties but can't go because he has a penis. I don't know. Comes to a point in life where he's tired of pretending to like football and wear clothes he doesn't like or be excluded from things he enjoys just because of his penis. Medical science comes along and says you have a problem we can fix with surgery. These people are in a great deal of suffering, it's a very difficult life, and assuming they aren't psychopaths or some kind of criminal then they are completely harmless and can be as functional in society as anyone else if allowed to simply be themselves. But they are told they can't be themselves because they have the wrong genitals. So they say well okay if that's what girls are, and this is how I am, I guess I'm a girl. So I will let the doctors fix me with hormones and painful nightmarish surgery and then maybe I'll be able to live the rest of my life as who I am without being treated so horribly. Of course, that's really not how it works out most of the time. The surgery isn't great and I don't know the stats but I don't think too many of them really pass as what they want.

If anyone thinks this is unrelated to the topic for some reason I will say that I think it is not insignificant to try to shed understanding on these people and these things because they are having a hard enough life without being seen as complicit in some kind of leftist agenda to normalize harmful sexual perversions.

I realize there is a contingent of often religiously motivated or simply socially conservative people that can't see past present day society enough to ever try to let the light of understanding in on people that are different than them. You're right society is how it is and people are going to not like who they will not like, and bully the square pegs. However, society is constantly changing. This is how it changes. We don't burn witches in America anymore. We don't lock homosexuals up in insane asylums and give them electroshock treatment (though on the internet I see many people wishing we did). There are more variations in people than a lot of people want to acknowledge or admit. People who are sociopathic, criminal or otherwise cause real harm to persons or property cannot be a part of society. People who are different from the herd and being persecuted deserve a chance to go through life without being subject to witch hunts. Transgender people are not a threat to society and can participate and contribute as much as anyone else. In other cultures and times they have even been uniquely appreciated and valued. It's very sad to me to see these people continually drawn into the accusations that come up whenever some piece of trash commits an atrocious sex crime.

He (re: the man) doesn't seem to be assessed this way by everyone...seems there are more than a few who are standing behind him and supporting him.

People believe in all sorts of things, sometime science has to catch up to prove or disprove something. Personally, I don't know about all this race/age/gender fluidness...as I said before, live and let live as long as it isn't being forced on me.

Argue it all you want but the left's unwavering support of policy issues on illegal immigration, refugees, sanctuary cities, and last but not least transgender bathrooms enables sexual predators to make it much easier to prey on women and children.

I am a white male non trans non partisan nom de guerre from the Uk.
We all have our issues, and certain issues have certain countries and cultures circling the wagons, finding common denominators, and sharing any information which may elucidate the subject at hand.
There is very much a left/right paradigm when it comes to issues we hold dear.
After all, only a lefty/righty would do this/cause this/approve this/condemn this.
But in issues of sexual fetish and desire, abomination transcends political opinion, religious doctrine and societal ideology.

Please consider the below, which categorically and emphatically states repugnance has a state of being all of its own.

I am just going to blatantly state the obvious.

The reason we do not allow sex with children is because they cannot consent and from what we understand from history and anecdotal reports it causes suffering of many types. The law is there to protect children from this suffering.

If there was an actual 9 year old child who was interested in sexual contact it would be assumed by many that the child either was developing early or was victim to sexual assault/molestation. They would be sent to a psych for treatment and assessment. They may even receive medication to counter the effects of precocious puberty for a few years.

So, if we are to believe this guy that he identifies as a 9 year old boy, it changes absolutely nothing. Children should be protected from him no matter how he identifies and he should be sent for mental evaluation and treatment, obviously as well as being jailed. If he cannot understand the threat he poses to society for whatever reason, then he will end up locked up in an institution for life.

When it comes down to it, no matter how he identifies, he poses a threat and cannot be free in society. There is no excuse for molesting children that will mitigate or counter the damage caused to the victim.

Personally I think he is saying whatever he thinks will get him out of this, and it is not going to work because the children are victims of his beliefs and behaviour. He will be sentenced and do time, and probably spend more time locked up for what he has said, truthful or not.

Here's what I think happened here...some dirty, middle-aged dude got caught doing something he ain't ought to have done - and so he sat and thought...what reason can I give in an attempt to excuse my behaviour?

He sat and thought for a bit then it struck him - society is now far more tolerant of bizarre role-play, a man can identify as a woman and a woman as a man, thus - I can identify as a child and it will somehow excuse and validate my behaviour!

It's extreme to go along that route where we simply assume that this was part of some elaborate plan to make pedofilia more acceptable, I don't really think that's the case.

This one man is responsible for himself...nobody made him do anything nor is anyone else to blame, be they LGBTQ or whatever.

But the point is that many people have helped to create this situation where it's possible for this man to make these absurd claims.

For a while now I've been hearing how these alternative lifestyles aren't harming anyone, but they are. It's not about the individual or their life choices, it's about the precedents being set and the bar continually being lowered as to what's acceptable.

It is harmful, in lot's of ways, and it's time we were honest about it before the bar ends up on the floor somewhere.

We need to stop pandering to delusion, it's clearly a very dangerous game we're playing. All our tippy-toeing and walking on eggshalls has given people like this guy some very nasty ideas.

It needs to stop.

I am assuming that to you there would never be a situation where a gay person might discriminate against a Christian. Or that a gay person may be more likely to be a pedophile. This is the problem, you pretend that human nature does not apply to all people. People of protected status are favored by law just by being protected.
