NSA changes mission statement

The NSA mission statement has been changed. Seems the first point "Honesty" has been removed. Also trust and openness.

Is it too old fashioned or does it have a deeper meaning. Could be they are just being honest about there mission now.

In its old core values, the NSA explained that it would strive to be deserving of the “great trust” placed in it by national leaders and American citizens. It said that it would “honor the public’s need for openness.” But those phrases are now gone; all references to “trust,” “honor,” and “openness” have disappeared.

It's just a website. Does that mean that mission statement isn't the reality of their mission?

Senator: Mr NSA, your statement doesn't seem to match the facts before us

Mr NSA: Senator, the NSA operates under it's mission statement which does not include the term honesty

Senator: Is this a recent development

Mr NSA: Although it would appear to be, it's not

Not surprising since the government is now under Republican rule, and Republicans hate honesty and transparency.

Well they couldnt honestly say they've had respect for The People.

It says the statement was also changed in 2016 so its obviously not a first for the website. What was the statement before the edit in 2016? Not that it would answer anything, just curious.

Well, obviously, without "honesty" all the other objectives are trash.

The old CIA was pretty open about being a covert agency.

They publicly disclosed their "Kryptos" sculpture in the 1990's.
That sculpture could have reflected a much earlier puzzle source.
They disclose what they want the way they want.

The little piggies in the dnc and rnc are seeing their house blown down by big bad Trump wolf. Where will the little piggies run? Everything is coming down around you because the ideology you bought into is being exposed.

They supposedly did this with Herbert Yardley and his "book" back in the 1920's.
I can't get past his gambling claims of always being able to win at poker.
Yardley was born the same year Nietzsche went insane which could be written off as a coincidence.
The FBI asked Yardley to decipher a code written on a post card which had been sent to San Francisco addressed to a "Lothar Witzke" who was involved in "both" WW's.
