Most here on ATS will be aware of various claims of Robert Zemeckis uncanny ability to predict future events - most notably in the back to the future movies. With that in mind it may be worth taking a close look at his new project a missing plane mystery TV show called Manifest.

A plane mysteriously goes missing mid-flight. Later, it reappears. For the passengers on board, it’s like it never happened. For everyone else, years have passed with the assumption that everyone on board was dead.

Robert Zemeckis Is Producing a TV Show That Sounds a Little Like Lost

Now if that doesn't make you think of MH370 I have to wonder what you are even doing here on ATS

A little refresher:

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370/MAS370)[a] was a scheduled international passenger flight that disappeared on 8 March 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, to its destination, Beijing Capital International Airport in China. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-200ER operated by Malaysia Airlines, last made voice contact with air traffic control at 01:19 MYT, 8 March (17:19 UTC, 7 March) when it was over the South China Sea, less than an hour after takeoff. The aircraft disappeared from air traffic controllers' radar screens at 01:22 MYT, but was still tracked on military radar as it deviated westwards from its planned flight path and crossed the Malay Peninsula, until it left the range at 02:22 while over the Andaman Sea, 200 nautical miles (370 km) north-west of Penang in north-western Malaysia. The aircraft was carrying 12 Malaysian crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations.

Interesting idea for a show....though have to think, once the mystery is revealed...seems that would be the death knell of the show.

But, LOST did this successfully for many seasons, so who knows. That show really doesn't always get the credit it deserves. Was really one of those, "I can't miss this show" type of shows....

While LOST is one example, like the above poster mentioned, it isn't a "new" concept. Stephen King's "The Langoliers" was actually the first thing I thought of when reading the premise. (would love to see how the ending of that was actually reconcilled, when they and the plane just "showed up" at an airport....lol. (and most passengers just missing...only the sleeping ones survived).
