I was surprised to see no threads on MLK.

The man was a voice of reason that was silenced way to early.
Was he perfect? No
He was human after all.
Was he right? I think so.
Can he still change the world? Yes
Right never dies.

He died before I was born so I never met the man.
I did visit his memorial in D.C. a few years ago.
I have to say it was an impressive sight that I highly recommend you see.

MLK is one of the greats! He stood up to the highest authority on earth and did so every day. This world needs more people like him. Great thread and happy MLK day.

If anyone deserves to be remembered for what he stood for and what he said, it was Dr. Martin Luther King.

Our prisons are at full capacity. I read most of the people in prison are because of marijuana possession charges. Corporately owned prisons are outsourcing labor at slave-labor wages. The majority of the people in prison are black.

Conclusion: Make marijuana legal, free the black man!!

I highly recommend "Hellhound On His Trail" by Hampton Sides. Its about the assassination of MLK by Ray. Once you start reading the book, its hard to put down. Sides addresses many questions that arose about the assassination.

I wish those who fight for equality would study his words and methods and understand that he was killed BECAUSE it was working entirely too well. Non violent approach to getting everyone to understand that we are all equal, some better educated, but none better than any other, and skin tone and hair texture is a stupid thing to base opinions off of. Eventually, we will all come to that conclusion, but sadly, it will take a lot of time to wipe out the stupid that continues to surface regarding race.

Remember him for his passion, not his shortcomings.

if it says Ray did it then you need to know the family didn't agree.

It was a Divide moment for the CIA/FBI. Look how split we are now with the conservatives being branded racist by RACISTS.

I agree with that. It is our DUTY to challenge UNJUST laws, period!
