Floor Collapse at Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta

Truly a horrific scene, this is pretty current at the time of this writing, but a major collapse at the stock exchange building in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Just breaking, within the last 30 minutes.

I'm currently listening to Right-Side Broadcasting at which is a live broadcast.


According to AP, there were hundreds of students attending a field-trip / visiting the exchange today, when this happened.

Indeed, very much an omen.

I've also just noticed that AFTER the collapse there was a 5.x earthquake in that same region.

The Indonesian market did open back up on time, tho I'm not sure how.

Oddly, I was just watching the engineering disasters documentary. These walkways seem prone to engineering and construction mishaps. Of course, 3rd world standards apply.

I remember recently in China a structural concrete pour was lightened by the inclusion of rows of tin cans. It looked like more than 1/2 the material was not present.

You put crap in, you get crap out.
I hope as few as possible were injured or killed.

Whoo. I am sure some people got seriously injured or killed in that. There were people walking below and on top of that walkway. That appears to be poor engineering.

Yeah, definitely A sign that our stock market is going to crash.
