The Beyond 2018

Currently watching the movie: The Beyond.
It has a similar semblance to an Arrival meets Interstellar mash up.
A worm hole appears in space and large orbs appear on earth.
Ultimately it's decided to send a team To make the trek through the worm hole.
To combat the stresses the astronauts will face on their journey, the scientists make artificial bodies for each astronaut and basically transplant their brains into a Human 2.0.

The special effects are excellent and the story line is actually well played.
Go on "popcorn time" or your favourite up to date streaming site and watch it now!
if you enjoyed the Arrival and Interstellar your gonna really like this movie.

it was a pretty good movie.

Usually I skip over movies that I don't know any of the actors. But I figured I'd give it a try and I'm happy I did!

Scifi is my fav. Thanks-always looking for good scifi movies-they are rare.

After reading this thread I convinced myself that I should watch "The Beyond". I'm glad that you enjoyed it, I found it insipid, depressing, and unsatisfying. It borrowed too heavily from other movies instead of being original. They probably did the best they could with what they had. I give it 2.5 stars out of 10.

Pros: Science Fiction

Cons: Found Footage/Mockumentary Format
Clumsy and repetitive dialogue
Annoying actress (supposedly a scientist/doctor in charge of the Human 2.0 procedure)
Did they copy the sound effects from Contact for the alien "signal"?

Fortunately, after I choked on the ending, I watched Jackie Chan in "The Foreigner". For me, even though it wasn't Science Fiction, it was much more satisfying. Believable story, great action, super acting, nice locations, and the ending didn't leave a foul taste in my mouth like "The Beyond".

Oh for sure. The movie definitely has its down falls. Like I mentioned it was a mashup with interstellar and Arrival.
Its never going to be the next Ridley Scott sci if movie,
but it did provide an interesting concept with the Human 2.0 for Interstellar travel.
