Here's a compilation of some amazing photographs of our Universe I think are mind bending and worthy of reflection.

North America in comparison to Jupiter

If Earth had rings like Saturn

Earth in comparison to the Sun

5 Earths inline can fit lengthwise on Saturns ice ring.

Earth from Mars.

VS Canis Majoris compared with the Sun. Canis Majoris is 1 Billion times bigger than the Sun!

I'm amazed at just how HUGE our Universe is aren't you, I am just stunned by it's beauty and size. The magnificence is mezmeronic!

Forgot this gem.

If a Meteroite landed in LA. (one that didn't burn up on impact.)

and this one too

If you were to decrease the size of our sun to the size of a white blood cell, then reduced the size of the Milky Way galaxy using the same scale, the MW would be the size of the US.
Crazy mindblowing stuff.

I'm surprised N. America is that visible on Jupiter.

It might be superimposed so we can see it.

Thank you! I really enjoyed that!
You really knocked it out of the park with this.

The one where it shows the U.S. super-imposed over Jupiter, I can almost see my house from there.

Good thread, to me nothing is more important then understanding and learning the paradox we are inside of.

Btw your OP is no scale or display of the universe, just one grain of sand called a Solar System. There are endless solar systems within the universe

I'm tired of looking at pictures. I'm ready to look out of an observatory deck on a space ship at all the amazing sights of the universe. Although for the most part the amazement is contained within the mind. As the more you understand how the universe works, the more awe inspiring it becomes.
