I have heard a million songs, seen a million best of all time lists, but I hardly ever see this song. Why is that?

It is quite possibly the best guitar solo on vinyl you will ever hear, and yet here we are, some obscure thread in a conspiracy website.

It is comparable to Jimi's side 3 of Electric ladyland and yet...

Life.

Enjoy.

Get your trip on I guess.

I'm a connoisseur of music, dodger of songs (songs are music with singing).

It was good.

You wouldnt believe the diverse range of all forms of music I collect. Including all kinds of cinematic music, and pretty much all the rest of it can be used cinematically no less.....

i listened to it just now. good tune for sure and all but the best ever?

i think you should listen to more guitar solo's

i really am not trying to piss on your thread. this is just my opinion.

i would love to go back and forth with you later as i just got to work.
not to try to change opinion but to share beautiful guitar solo's

please give this a listen. there is a brief lyrical intro but the solo starts at 1:25.

this is Joe's last imaginary guitar solo and this is in my opinion of of the most beautiful solo's ever recorded.

trust me man. this song will bring about some emotions

Eddie Hazel using a Strat, MXR Phase 90, Maestro Fuzz, and Crybaby Wah pedals, and a dual reverb amp. I don't know if he tops Clapton in terms of funk guitar, but he comes close.

I'm glad you guys who hadn't heard it before enjoyed it, and those who already had heard it enjoyed listening to it again.

TinySickTears: I love Zappa indeed, I enjoyed the stupid albums just as much as the funky jazz stuff, When I said possibly the best I was referring to the emotion invoked from the solo.

I could have played Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of little wing or for technicality something by Yngwie Malmsteen or Steve Vai (who played with Zappa I think at some point), Satriani etc...or like Burdmann mentioned, Clapton...

Or even this relatively unknown (outside of Brazil) Brazilian guy:

But like I said, emotion for me was the factor.

Thanks for the good Zappa stuff, was a trip down memory lane.

I have not heard of him, will check out soon. Thanks for the heads up. If you like wacky styles Trace Bundy is a bit out there, finds strange ways to play songs, essentially hammer on/off for the whole song and harmonics.
You probably know him but just in case...
