In an ideal world we'd open up dialogue with them, you cannot have a one sided affair in terms of diplomacy. Trump has screwed up any chance of dialogue though... They need assurance that no harm will come to them if they give up their nuclear ambitions, nobody can deliver that.

The Chinese and Russians are weary of the US and for good reason, they cannot guarantee the US will never attack, they cannot guarantee the sovereignty of North Korea. All they can do is speak hypothetically and make accords to such situations, in that aspect nothing has changed with Korea. Nothing at all.

The only one with emphasis on time is the US, it's well worth noting. Considering North Korea has been starving a while now.

The US cannot lead any dialogue though, hell no. They shouldn't even have a say. It's a conflict of interest.

Good Post
Our country have already blew away all their chances in dealing with North Korea when we have been invading other countries full stop since the end of WW2. Any other country would be crazy to trust us.

It needs to be another country that deals with North Korea, otherwise it go from a bad situation to a worse situation.
It would be preferable if China stepped in, but I think China likes things just the way they are. No doubt, the PNAC Globalists would install another military outpost in North Korea if we took them out and China doesn't want any of that.

This is the situation that almost every country in the world faces in my view. If you oppose the United States in a serious manner, you'll be crushed in one way or another unless you're a superpower.

More North Koreans than ever are going to starve to death so that their country can survive as a sovereign entity. Their choice is either accepting U.S. hegemony or limping along as a starving, hopelessly impoverished nation.

Putin said North Koreans would eat grass rather than give up their nuclear ambitions. It looks like that theory is about to be tested.

The scary thing to me is that all of this makes North Korea the equivalent of a cornered, wounded animal.

"We define this 'sanctions resolution' rigged up by the U.S. and its followers as a grave infringement upon the sovereignty of our Republic, as an act of war violating peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and the region and categorically reject the 'resolution,'" it said.

"There is no more fatal blunder than the miscalculation that the U.S. and its followers could check by already worn-out 'sanctions' the victorious advance of our people who have brilliantly accomplished the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force," the ministry said.

Other aspects of the sanctions include all North Korean nationals working abroad having to return to the country within 24 months, and a ban on North Korean exports of goods such as machinery.

North Koreans wouldn't have to eat grass or be starving like they have been for decades under a psychotic dynastic regime who spends all its money on the elite, army and weapons development etc. Surely their priority should be the feeding of the people. This regime is brutal and the worst state imposed brain washing control of a nations people on the planet.

The level of irresponsibility and threats from its leadership are unbelievable and warrant nothing less than being defined as being a sick of mind regime.

NK will not be permitted to further develop its nuclear capability that you can be assured of and if they don't agree to enter talks to resolve the situation peacefully they will be dealt with by China and the US in the next 12 months! This is not a speculation but an imperative to ensure that the Korean Peninsula doesn't become a nuclear catastrophe for this planet.

Maybe you werre not aware of this but the US military sea rations that are expired are funneled to North Korea and have been for many years, so no, the nk military IS NOT STARVING.

Having read the article the following can be stated:

For years the country of North Korea has been at a state of war. The Korean conflict never ended, it was just paused to an armistice, and the relations between it and the rest of the world has never improved, some countries have been viewed as bad, others more friendly.

The USA, in reality, does not understand the way of thinking, putting sanctions on it time and time again, and its leadership and people view such with suspicion and belief that this is to end the war and thus allowing for the country of North Korea to lose, thus causing far more chaos in the country. And do they have just cause to distrust the USA, if you look at history of the world, since the 1950's and the end of the Korean conflict the answer would be yes. So it turns to the natural political enemies of the USA to form alliances with them, and those countries have been supporting the North Koreans and that countries, even when it breaks many of the sanctions and violates some laws and uses fear as a weapon.

The USA can spout and huff, as a poster pointed out, as long as Russia and China are involved, supporting that country the USA is not going to be able to do anything against it.

The only way to get things to calm down, would be to go back to the table, but not as the leader of that discussion but as either an equal to North Korea or even as a silent participant, and one that is going to have to give as well. And I would say the first thing to discuss, is not for them to get rid of any weapons or dictate its internal policies. But for them to come to the table to finally end the Korean conflict and the years of hostility between the North and South Korea. And to start with the easing of sanctions, and offering humanitarian aid, to go through either China or Russia to North Korea. That would ease tensions and start to normalize relations and go far longer than say direct confrontation, which the USA can neither afford or win.

what has NK done to the US to institute a war posture?

Threatened us with nuclear annihilation?

That would put me on alert.

Cmon dont be a bunch of cowards. Lets pick on someone our own size I declare.

It's time we attack India they have all the same excuses to go war benchmarks as NK.

Lets not be hypocrites here, if NK deserves it then so does India. All we have to do is slap sanctions on them, encircle embargo them with navy ships and artillery, run 24/7 war propaganda against them in our media, and before too long they'll warn us they're capable of striking back if we strike them, just like NK has been, and then we'll have our excuse to go to war.

Lets man up and do this yo!

Trump did that too...

It's funny how that works. If someone kept telling me they were going to knock me out I'd feel inclined to tell them if they try it they might lose a few teeth.

Tit for tat.

BTW I've never heard of North Korean supersonic bombers circling the US or whole naval fleets parking up 50 miles from LA.

Have you?

If nothing else, it amazing me when I come here, when people support to the utmost of their being, defend communists, dictators, people who have murdered and maimed and committed terrible humanitarian crimes, and threaten death to others. And if anyone dares bring this up.. it becomes "Yea well but.. the U.S. does this other thing!"

NK is a country led by a dude who literally acts like he is a god, who can change weather, and should be worshiped. He kills, threatens.. and all I hear is "poooor poor NK!" I feel terribly for the NK citizens. Defending their government is asinine.

You mean ... Kim would
Rather have his People eat grass then give up nuclear missiles ....not his people ... They have no say . .... ( plus they're already eating grass) ....As far as I'm concerned , Kim is a rabid dog and will do something dumb as soon as he has the capability. He's been testing and working on it . ... His saber rattling will eventually turn to
Action ..... It's not a matter of if... It's a matter of when ,

Not true, they do have a say there a lot more of them then their are government and military. If everyone is starving because the gov won't give up nukes they should demand that they do so or riot.

He will not act doing so is a death sentence and he knows it.

If war happens millions of people will die to the cost of trillions to the American tax payer. I'm willing to bet North Korea could be purchased from Kim for a fraction of what a war would cost. I hear NK has a bunch of rare earth metals. Give them mining equipment and technology. Kim would rather be rich then dead. If he's knows he's going to die like Saddam he's going to cause as much destruction as possible. Unlike Saddam he actually has nuclear weapons. I really don't want to see the destruction of nuclear weapons in hd.
